....I'm looking for one (preferably eXcel) which includes a setting to filter-from-view all NOT-approved-for-Society-organized-play stuff.
The otherwise fabulous CoreGen-b54 eXcel is up to versin "003", but it does not have a Society-only filter, which renders is maddening to use whenever you're browsing through feats & whatnot.
(It also hasn't been updated to include material from the Pathfinder Advanced Players Guide; and I'm wondering if development of that generator has ceased.)

Yes, HeroLab is the best I've seen (I'm uncertain if PCGen has a PFS setting). For a free sheet, I will note that the sCoreGen fellow, me, and a bunch of other folks are looking to combine our efforts into making a "ultimate sheet" and this would include full PFS support. It will be a bit before it's ready, however.

The main thing is attention to the details in Chapter 13: Additional Resources of the Guide to Pathfinder Society Organized Play. What's in and what's out.
-- It's "the Bible".
I will cheerfully assist you in beta-testing improved eXcel or offline-Java versions. (IMO online gens are a PITA, because you have the additional coding overhead of worrying whether or not you'll crash one of eight different browsers.)

Currently PCGen does NOT have anything for the Society. This is mainly because AFAIK non of the really active dataset coders are players in the PFS. Of course if somebody that is familiar with PCGen LST files and the Society were wantint to help out ... :)
The basic gist is that every single item, feat, ability (etc) in the database will need to have a flag for Society-legal status.
Download this, and see especially Ch. 4 and Ch. 13.
Given that the existing Fessler SCoreGen template has "hidden" status for items, I suspect it's a good candidate for modification.
Having never coded an eXcel doc before, I don't know how much work is involved....but at least the "checklist" of legal stuff is available and easy enough to follow. (If the biggest impediment is lack of sourcebooks, I have these.)
Basically, a character will be locked into 20pt-buy if he selects a "Society organized play" feature, and not-available items will be "hidden".
