I am currently DMing two campaigns in my day-to-day and I would like to joining a game as a player, even if it is PBP. Anyone know of any games that are starting up or ones in progress that are looking for more players?
Hi InsideOwt!
There is a subforum to look for PbP games forming up >HERE<. You can find all sorts of games starting up there. This subforum is more for games already in action.
Good luck!

Thanks so much!
Peers of the Gamer Connection I am looking for a Play by Post game starting up or looking for new players. Any tips that could point me in the right direction would be much appreciated.

This forum is the place to look for PbP games. Games seem to open and close at a rate of about 3 a week. Last week 3 Carrion Crown PbP were recruiting and one or two homebrews. Right now it looks like Jörmungandr is recruiting for Kingmaker.
Best advice I can give is check this forum often...several times a day if you can and are really eager to play. Because some DMs fill their games on a first come basis, timing is sometimes very important. But other DM's often set a period over which they accept applications.
In either case, carefully read the requirements the DM usually states in their opening post. Build a character that meets these requirements and will fit into the setting and fit in to a group. You may have dreams a lone wolf dinosaur ninja, and the rules may support such a build, but the more it seems you want to play along with the DM and other players, the more likely you will be selected...of course there are some games that recruit for wacky builds...so if that is your cup of tea, wait for those right moments. Otherwise typically a DM will want the class and race of your character and a short paragraph or two description of character and how it will fit into the campaign.
Also look at what other potential player may have already proposed. It is kind of bad form to propose a nearly identical character that someone has already proposed. But if 10 melee builds have been proposed, think about not suggesting another melee character, play the odds and go with a class that is under represented...Do you want to play...or do you want to play that specific fighter build?
If you are targeting a specific adventure path to play, it might help to have a character in mind beforehand, built toward the needs of that campaign, instead of shopping the same character for every campaign no matter its background.
I am in a handful of PbP currently, and this strategy has been fairly successful for me. I was in my first PbP within two week of coming upon this forum, and did not make it into my first. But perseverance pays. And the online community is great here, and you will meet some very interesting a creative people, so don't get discouraged.
hope that helps
