So guys,
a few days ago I was thinking of running one of the modules but before I could get it going I found that my interest began to falter. I am glad to announce however that my fervor for PbP gaming has not waned and that I'm hoping to run a game of the Kingmaker adventure path. What I'm after is four fellow keen gamers to make characters for the game so that I can waster even more of my time doing what I love :)

Characters would be created using on Paizo published materials with races and classes taken from the Pathfinder core book and the Advanced Player's Guide. You'd also have two traits, one from the APG and the second taken from the Kingmaker player's guide. I'm sad to say but the playtest material is not available at this time for character creation so no Magus, Gunslinger, Ninja or Samurai character will be accepted.

So having said all that I hope to hear from people soon and I'll let people know who made it in within a few days so we can get this ball rolling too.

Jormungandr

Give me a sec and I'll throw my hat into the ring. Just have to do some changes on a character I already premade. What's the point-buy or roll for attributes or something?

Damn I always seem to forget something, sorry about that, point buy following the normal rules with 20pts :)

Ack! You would run my favorite one! I suppose I can get in on one more...

Name: Temarel Culledleaf
Race:Half Elf
AL: NG
Concept: Young magical Darwin putting his knowledge to practical use.
Class: Summoner 1
Traits: Rich Parents, Noble Born (Medvyed)

Spoiler:
Lordship is in Temarel's blood. Unfortunately i was not in his heart or mind. By all rights he should have inherited his fathers dukedom, settled into a boring life of service to the people and chivalry and then had sons of his own to pass the legacy.

Instead he was fascinated by life. That is, what makes it tick, move, feed, breed. Why does an outsider not need to eat while a mortal creature does? What makes male birds brightly colored and females dull? Thus he took up the study of magic, and not even the honest lot of a wizard as his father might have approved, but rather the art of the summoner. His experiments in breeding various animals started simple and productive enough. Even his father admitted that after he discovered a means by which to triple the production of cash crops it was a useful skill.

It was when his experiments were getting eccentric that the trouble began. He began to look at the oddities of life such as siamese twins, vestigal limbs, and other things and tried to make them...practical. Though he swore that his experiments were to the benefit of the people the commoners began to see the young man as something of a witch and avoided him. Seeing that he might have a potential revolt, and seeing that his full blooded younger son was growing to be a fine example of nobility without any of Temarel's "elven whimsy" he decided the only course of action was to send his wayward son away. Far away.

Temarel only seeks the approval of his father. If he can create a realm where his experiments improve the quality of life while simultaneously forming it into an economic powerhouse, he feels that he can prove himself not only to his father but place his name among the great minds of Brevoy.

I would like to offer Tamel. Half elf Stormborn Sorcerer of House Lodvoka.

Character to follow.

A local ranger, Arbot is a true hunter at heart, living for the thrill of the hunt. Ambitious and curious, his "day job" as a guide escorting people through the wild lands bores him. On occasion his talents have lent themselves to more shady jobs, some involving rather unsavory finales. Being much too ambitious to lead this life much longer, he seeks to participate in something greater, something that will etch his name into the history books.

Profile updated as I get to it!

Okey, won't need to change my character anymore I had to. Here's Poshment Underhill, origonally for Serphant's Skull, but this campain will fit him better.

Name: Poshment Underhill
Race: Gnome
AL: CN
Concept: Young bard who decided to run from the River kingdoms after having insulted King Irovetti by defacing the works of art made in his likeness.
Class: Bard 1
Traits: Brigand (campain trait), Dangerously Curious

Background:

Poshment Underhill was brought up in the town of Pitax in The River Kingdoms. Being a free spirit as he was, was a bit of a problem. The self fashioned megalomaniac Irovetti grew angry with the gnome as he spread stories and sang songs about how his toes smelled and spreading the words that no one else dared say. He fled from the city due to the fear of this mad lord was going to chase after him. He wishes to find a place where he can be an aspiring writer or playwrite in a place that won't restrict the words that come out of his mouth. He decides to travel and get the hell out of here, but runs into a sign stating people were needed to capture the Stolen Lands. Having picked up on what people said about the lands he smiles as this will be the perfect place to hide. The king may search for him all over the world, but he would never look in such a savage and untamed lands for him.

Appearence:

He seems wiley with eyes darting all over the place as he is unable to pay attention to anything. His green eyes reflect his personality as he always greets people with a smile no matter if it were a friend or foe. He's clean shaven and tries hard to make sure he looks presentable and clean.

Roll for wealth just so I can plan equipment properly 5d6 ⇒ (5, 6, 4, 2, 5) = 22 x 10 = 220 gp.

I have a character from another pbp that fell apart a few years ago that I'd like to use. Pavel is another ranger (though I could alter him to be a cleric or paladin of Erastil if that works better). He would likely take the Rostlander background, very much a country bumpkin. Though he stutters a lot in conversation and is bound by quite a few superstitions, he's a capable woodsman and takes his duty to his community and country seriously. (Naturally if he were switched to paladin or cleric his stutter would go away with his greater charisma.) I can adjust his stats and show you what he would look like in 20 point buy.

roll? I was assuming the average...

My apologies for assuming. I saw that there were no instructions about starting wealth, so I went with the instructions in the character creation section in the CRB.

Will have to wait for the DM as he hasn't specified.

I would like to play Simon Bornen a paladin of Erastil interested in bringing law in the wilds of the River Kingdoms . Building small towns in the wilderness strike him as a really good idea so he would join the expedition

Oh man oh man, if you've got space left and don't mind having the same player in 2 of your pbps, I've got an inquisitor I'd LOVE to play in a kingmaker campaign. The short version is that Sigurd Mjornson's family moved to the Greenbelt when he was very young, his father tired of the hard life of battle he and his family faced in the Land of the Linnorm Kings. He felt that the Greenbelt would be a place were he could still rough it a bit, live off the land, and mostly take it easy while still testing his sword-arm against bandits now and again, but the brigands' numbers were far more numerous than he was expecting, and each year they got pushed back further until they were living in southern Rostland. Sigurd's family befriended a cleric of Erastil there, who became a second father to Sigurd, and the youn Ulfen learned swordplay and archery from his father. Rather than entering the priesthood, though, Sigurd felt he could best serve Erastil in his own way, preferring to protect the people from the wilds (and flex his vendetta against local bandits) instead, which made him popular in the community despite his gruff demeanor. One day while on a hunt, a large group of bandits attacked his village - they sought revenge against the cleric and Sigurd's father for the dents that had been placed in their operations. When Sigurd returned, he found the few survivors looking to him, and he lead them once again further north. When he heard about the charter, he was only too eager to sign up, as the phrase "stolen lands" has a very personal meaning to him.

Poor Wandering One here. I have decided to go with Durant.

Living on the edge of House Surtova is not a pleasant or east thing to do. Durant's family managed one of the House's minor holdings in the north. Where Durant studied, trained, and sought the order that the constant political maneuvers of the house denied him.

The last straw came when his family was made a scapegoat when a scheme went wrong. His family was disgraced and forced to move south. Durant felt that he had suffered enough for other people's foolish ambition. The last time he used his real name was when he signed the Accords.

Taking the name Durant after a long dead philosopher he hopes to carve his own future and perhaps make a place for his family free of House Surtova.

I would love to play Kingmaker the adventure looks to be awesome. If I may throw my hat in. with Jonas El'Adan. A Wizard born to privilege who is attempting to get out from under his parents shadow by taking on the wilds of the stolen lands.

Jonas El'Aden
Race: Human
Classes/Levels: Wizard (Un) 1
Gender: Male
Size: Medium
Age: 20
Alignment: Neutral Good

Strength 11
Dexterity 15
Constitution 14
Intelligence 17
Wisdom 10
Charisma 10

Alright, here's Sigurd's alias, which will be updated over the course of the day. How are you handling gear, by the way?

Sorry, yeah average rather then roll for the starting cash, I was sleepy when I wrote up the advertisement and knew I'd forgotten a couple of things :P

Here is a character I've been tossing around in the back of my head for a bit that I'd like to submit.

Name: Iadonius
Race: Half-Elf (Part Taldane)
Class: Fighter (Aldori Swordlord Archetype; Inner Sea Primer p. 24)
Alignment: NG

Traits
Sword Scion (+1 trait bonus on attack and CM with Aldori dueling swords; begin play with an Aldori dueling sword)
Elven Reflexes (+2 trait bonus on Initiative checks)

Alternate Racial Trait (from APG)
Ancestral Arms (receives Exotic Weapon Proficiency (Aldori dueling sword) as a bonus feat instead of the adaptability racial trait)

Str 13 (3)
Dex 18 (10) (+2 racial bonus)
Con 12 (2)
Int 14 (5)
Wis 10 (0)
Cha 10 (0)

HP 12 (1d10+1+1 favored class)
Init +6 (+4 Dex, +2 trait)

Feats
Exotic Weapon Proficiency (Aldori Dueling Sword) [Ancestral Arms Bonus Feat]
Weapon Finesse [Fighter Bonus Feat]
Weapon Focus (Aldori Dueling Sword) [Level 1 Feat]

The only son of Taldane Swordlord Ionnia Aldori and her elven lover Izkrael Malthezune. Iadonius has always desired to join the ranks of the Aldori Swordlords, though he doesn't wish to ride on the coat-tails of his famous mother. He sees the opportunity to help "civilize" the Stolen Lands as an excellent start to his legend. Brash and bold, Iadonius is a stalwart companion, even if he is a bit of a womanizer and hothead. Detailed backstory, personality and all that jazz will be supplied if he's accepted.

Alright, got everything figured out except for miscellaneous gear. Sigurd is primarily a survivalist and an archer (he will likely function similarly to a ranger), but will make a decent switch-hitter, and his spell selection ought to allow him to work as a poor-man's healer.

Just adding some imagery for what I think the stolen lands will look like when I'm describing them :)
Stolen Lands Wilderness

On the trail to Oleg's

Stolen Lands Foothills

Deep in the forests

Early Autumn

Edit: Found some nicer sources for pictures so if you saw the previous crop check these out instead :)

Nice pics I can definitely see them as the back drop for the stolen lands

I know its a silly habit but I find a few shared images around a gaming table can really help set the imagery in people minds, if you don't when a person says "You're in a woodland", I as an Australian might think Snowy Mountains while an American player might think Pacific Northwest, while both are woodlands/forests the kind of ground cover and difficulty traversing are completely different :)

Hi people,
so this is our ooc thread for discussing the game and fine tuning the characters until we're ready to begin the game. So far we're looking at...
Jonas El'Adan the Wizard
Simon Bornen the Paladin
Sigurd Mjornson the Inquisitor (Might want to check but I actually think
Sigurd is a feminine Norse name, I seem to remember it being on of the Valyrie names)
Pavel the Ranger
Elanor Krupp the Witch
Good luck guys :)

Sorry for everyone who didn't make it into the game, if any of my games come apart in future I'll try and remember to hit you guys up first :)

Always a bridesmaid........

<sigh> :7)

I will play a monk someday ...... someday.

Have fun guys.

I know the feeling. Poshment will one day get his day! For now I just realised I should alter a few things on this character anyway to get a masterwork backpack.

I understand this may seem in bad form, but I am looking to improve my chances of being picked for future campaigns. Could you help enlighten me as to why characters with a near-identical build to mine with no background were picked over mine?

Thank you, and have fun to everyone in the game!

If its between Arbot and Pavel your talking about its the fact that I know James slightly, wasn't anything against you just knowledge of the player base.

Aha, name recognition. I understand.
