I noticed that in the Bestiary, the Eagle & Giant Eagle both have a speed of 10 feet. Their flying speeds are the same as well, which may be the case, but it seems very wrong that their land speeds are the exact same. I highly doubt a large eagle would keep pace with the small one.
Was 20 feet intended for the Giant Eagle? Or some other amount? Is there errata information I'm unaware of?
Thank you!

Doubling in size from the Enlarge Person spell takes me from being about 6 feet tall to being 12 feet tall. This means I ought to be able to go from taking yard-long strides to taking strides over six feet long. Ought to double my speed, right? Nope. My speed stays exactly the same.
Adding the "giant" template to a creature or adding hit dice until it increases in size doesn't improve base speed either. Obviously, in the Pathfinder universe, height/size has nothing to do with speed.

Small creatures often move their legs faster than bigger ones do, which could lead to the same movement rate.
Okay thank you. I am trying to think of it as "it cannot move faster than its smaller counterpart because there is much more of itself to move, which doesn't necessarily equate to a speed increase". I would give that excuse to a medium hawk compared to a large hawk, but the small... that small eagle would have to be moving their feet MUCH MUCH faster than bigger ones do.
But that's ok I guess.Just.. 10 feet. A snake can outrun this eagle on the ground with a 20 ft slither speed. Sure, eagles are masters of the sky & are very fast there, but a giant eagle is like a small eagle in a giant eagle costume when it comes to speed.
When I dm I might change it to 15 feet, MAYBE 20, but certainly no more. I live in a place surrounded by Ravens year round. I've watched them try to hop around on the ground when they find food & its true they are much slower than when taking to wing. This is likely the same for all winged creatures with similar builds.
