Two quick Sunder Questions (and one involving vital strike)

Rules Questions

To begin with, let me apologize for asking these questions, since I'm positive the subjects have been discussed before, but I can't seem to make the Search/Rules-Fu DC :(

First, can magical weapons be sundered with non-magical ones now (or sunder a weapon with a greater enhancement with a lesser one)? I thought I remembered the rule changing, but I can't seem to find it.

Second, was it ever determined if vital strike works in conjunction with sunder?

To sunder a magical weapon you must possess a weapon who's enhancement bonus is equal to or greater than that of the target weapon (page 468).

There is no reason you cannot combine vital strike and sunder that I can see.

The 3.0 method for breaking _weapons_ is used. other Stuff is fair game.

Damaging Magic Weapons: An attacker cannot damage a magic weapon that has an enhancement bonus unless his weapon has at least as high an enhancement bonus as the weapon struck.

>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> ;>>>>>>

Magic items, unless otherwise noted, take damage as nonmagical items of the same sort. A damaged magic item continues to function, but if it is destroyed, all its magical power is lost. Magic items that take damage in excess of half their total hit points, but not more than their total hit points, gain the broken condition, and might not function properly.

So the Sundering dragon can shred the rest of the target's stuff since enhancements only adjust durability on Armor, Shields, and Weapons.

Magic Armor, Shields, and Weapons: Each +1 of enhancement bonus adds 2 to the hardness of armor, a weapon, or a shield, and +10 to the item's hit points.

Thanks for the quick replies.

One follow up: Does the "equal bonus needed" rule apply to armor/shields as well? Sure seems like it would....

Why on Golarion would you say that about armor? I could possibly see someone trying to claim that on a shield, but thankfully pathfinder was clear about that not being the case.

Shields: Shield enhancement bonuses stack with armor enhancement bonuses. Shield enhancement bonuses do not act as attack or damage bonuses when the shield is used in a shield bash. The bashing special ability, however, does grant a +1 bonus on attack and damage rolls (see the special ability Description).

A shield could be built that also acted as a magic weapon, but the cost of the enhancement bonus on attack rolls would need to be added into the cost of the shield and its enhancement bonus to AC.

Sunderlicious!

Funny thing is, it doesn't say. With that in mind, I guess it is just +2 hardness and +10 hit points per enhancement bonus (page 175).

I was thinking more along the lines of whether an equal or greater enhancement bonus would be needed to sunder a shield or armor, as opposed to using the shield or armor to sunder something else.

Sorry for the confusion.

Thanks, again, everyone.
