Do the favored class bonuses that modify the animal companion (such as the Gnome Ranger's bonus to the animal's DR) apply to all of the beastmaster's companions or just one of them?
I would actually like to know this as well. I will be making a Half Orc beastmaster soon and want to know if I can give all of my companions +1 HP or if it is just one that gets +1 HP. Please don't make me pick favorites.
I dont see why not.? DR/Magic is more than likley the worst DR you can have, to easy to overcome. As for the others that give HP or Skill points. Sure, you have to split you "Druid Level" up so the animals will be weaker then others of your level & they need all the help they can get. :)
DR/magic is actually quite good. It's very easy for PCs to overcome, but monsters often will not bypass it.
As for the OP question, I don't know, but giving ranger favored enemy bonus to a hoard of creatures is pretty sick.

Since you're dividing your effective druid level amongst all your ACs, and since they are therefore all much weaker than if you'd just taken one, I see no imbalance in having them all gain the benefits.

Huh, and interesting thread, given my own Skirmisher/Beast Master Ranger is getting to the point I will need to start picking Animal Companions soon.

I actually would use the argument that you're dividing up your druid level as an argument in favor of saying "You have to choose one each time". That being said, I don't think it'd be broken to give them all the bonus.

+1 I don't think it is broken to give all of them the bonus as well.
