Yeah, but you don't need a light weapon to attack while grappled:

Instead of attempting to break or reverse the grapple, you can take any action that requires only one hand to perform, such as cast a spell or make an attack with a light or one-handed weapon against any creature within your reach, including the creature that is grappling you.

Shield Bash: For the purpose of penalties on attack rolls, treat a light shield as a light weapon.

Thanks!

Why does it say "Light or one-handed weapon"?

Are there two handed light weapons? Does this mean you can attack with a martial one handed weapon like a battle axe?

You could read it as "light weapon or one-handed weapon" if that's clearer. A melee weapon is either a light weapon, a one-handed weapon or a two-handed weapon.

Yes, you can attack with a battleaxe. It doesn't matter whether the weapon is simple, martial or exotic.
