Calling all brave adventurers!
Interested in Gm'ing a PbP game set in the Pathfinder campaign setting but with an entirely homebrew story. (Will consider doing a skype call instead of PbP but depends on the post)
Game would be 24 point buy. Characters start at level 1. Starting gold and gear to be determined.
Core, APG, Beastiary 1&2 content only. Small additions from other 3.5 material possible but at GM discretion.
If your interested message me or send me a skype message at tommy.sauter
Six maximum players three minimum.
See you all soon!

Shameless self bump. Curious lack of interest. I wonder why?

Agreed a bit more information is needed to garner interst.
Hm. Ok I was being deliberately coy but here's a bit.
The players will start in the city of Azir in the Kingdom of Rahadoum where a great celebration is taking place. For the second year in a row, the Men of Rahadoum seemed to have beaten the perpetual famines that plagued the land for decades. It seems the Gods have become bored of torturing the unfaithful but stubbornly resilient populace.
Drunk with joy, literally and figuratively, a large party of the populace is celebrating a month-long feast along the shores of the inner sea.
The adventurers will find themselves in attendance to one of these parties, dancing and drinking along to calm shores of the Inner Sea.
In the middle of the party an Oracle of the Waves will stumble ashore, seemingly having walked up from the bottom of the sea itself. Bloodied and with many broken bones, she babbles (almost) incoherently about the cauldron "bubbling over" and the revenge of the "wavebourne exiles."
As she speaks, some zombies, skeletons, and other assorted undead shamble onshore, causing panic among the party goers. As the local guard tries to contain the crowd and deal with the threat, the adventurers will find themselves balancing saving the oracle to learn her secrets, assisting the guard, and protecting the party goers.
The result of the battle will drastically alter the lives of the PCs and determine, at least partially, what routes are open to them next. Where did these undead come from? What says the king? His loremasters? His Wizards and Sorcerers? What of this oracle predicting strange dangers? Who hurt her? Is it happening elsewhere? Is it an invasion? Or something more?
Answers may be elusive. But will the people of Azir, indeed the people of the Inner Sea, learn what is happening before it is too late?
Adventurers will simply need to justify their presence at the party. We can handle the rest from there :)

Sorry for any confusion there. Which character catches your fancy, as DM?
Woah, I forgot Des had already been stripped back in preparation for another PbP. For which I cannot remember whether he did not succeed in getting the job...or the that PbP also failed to 'lift off'...
Much cheers to you and yours. =)

Posting once a day is very do-able for me. Even when my shift work moves into a 'higher' gear.
Much cheers to you and yours. =)
Edit: As for bein' at th' party? Why there be a party on'a beach! Whut more excuse fer bein' at'a party does a bod need? (^_^)
There will be waves. Yes. But what will you do if we are not in the water?

The feat "Spirit of the River" allows the character to 'party hard' with the dry folks for a number of days equal to her Constitution modifier PLUS her level. So, using the SRD Sea Elf stats, her Con could start at 18, plus one fore her level, allowing her five whole days of fun.
Add in "Endurance" and she's making a very good save once day for a while on top of that. =)
Hope that clears things up. (^_^)

If you are taking a feat to do it I'm game. I think that'll be fun.

I am interested.
I am thinking Human Cavalier. He is a dyed in the wool believer in the righteous purity of a secular Rahadoum. (Perhaps a member or applicant to the Pure Legion) He upholds all of the tenets of the Laws of Man. His strength of conviction is so strong he is able to shrug off wounds (the Rahadoum regional feat that allows you to heal yourself once per day; I don't have the campaign setting book with me at work and cannot remember it's name) He is of the Order of the Shield; defending the common folk against the depredations of priests and religious zealots.
If this interests you, I'll write up the character for your review.

So here's the rub, I hear undead campaign and the urge to go with Undead Hunter Paladin is strong but technically metagame. Besides which, are we all supposed to be from Rahadoum where religion is frowned upon? If not Inquisitor could work quite well too.
I see we're already melee heavy but that could work with undead.
Gives a real Zombieland/ Night of the Living Dead feel.
My other temptation is a monk but I'm thinking half the class features would be useless.
Any thoughts?

Oh you. You superstar you ;)
Yes this is why I refrained from a description. I was going to get like 11 Pali's rolling in here to punch undead broseidon in the face for three million d6 (actual number).
BUT. THIS. IS. PATHFINDA! Roll whatever you want.
Which means I can always adjust for your presence. A monk or a Pali is fine. However I just want to offer you the following riposte to your Pali.
ONE:
Some of these undead might know you are a Pali. Indeed they might be warned about it. Indeed they might seek you out because of it.
TWO:
In Rahadoum i'm going to give you a circumstance penalty on a lot of stuff because, well, we don't like you here ;)
THREE: I just read about the "undead scourge." Cool class.
I am 100% ok with this if you are up for the challenge. Just expect things to go a little...differently ....for you when you stir up the Bee Hive. Post a character please.

I, Ekeebe, am very interested in this, as I can't actually leave the house to RP any more (new baby and work responsibilities), this profile (Dirk Strongbeard) is probably the profile I will be using, just look over it and tell me if anything needs to be changed.
Ekeebe :D
Dirk,
I need a setting specific background. Nothing big, but something.
I also need you to adjust your stats "down" to our measily 20 pt buy.
I'm fine with a Dwarven Barbarian just need to know why he's there. :)

My original idea was for a paladin who followed Law, but no gods. I thought about proposing a paladin sans spells like the 3.5 variant from the Complete Warrior book, but decided a LG cavalier who carries a copy of the Laws of Man with him to preach the word of secularism with the Godless Healing feat to heal himself would suit my needs just fine.
I think a paladin is a great idea and every region needs those who hunt the undead. On the other hand, a secular inquisitor who roots out the heresy of religion would be awesome, too. Don't be me! Get with our GM and work out a concept that fits.

I have to ask, since I'm interested: any chance of playing a Dreamscarred Press' Psionics Unleashed in this campaign? The character would be one of the first psions awakening in the homebrewed world, pretending to be a human sorcerer. I'm thinking either a Shaper for the Astral Construct or a Kineticist for all the energy powers, plus some jack-of-all-trade skills and powers. I'm willing to post as verbosely as needed for the GM to understand the powers and rules (the PDF is $10). Only content from PU and a 3.5 power from The Mind's Eye would be third-party sources outside of the Core and APG. PU is 100% Pathfinder-compatible.
I've been playing tabletop D&D since 1992, but I'd like to get into PbP to try out new characters. I'm only involved in one other PbP (Rise of the Runelords) and that's just started. I can post several times per week, with only a few weekends barred to me.

I'm sorry jhpace1 but I really want to keep it to core and apg if I can. I appreciate you being able to go the extra mile but for now I'm just going to stick what I have here. Good hunting psion!

AKA Dirk Strongbeard
The stat changes are due to the Dwarf racial modifier, without modifiers, the stats are:
STR 17 (+13 points)
DEX 12 (+2 points)
CON 16 (+10 points)
INT 8 (-2 points)
WIS 12 (+2 points)
CHA 9 (-1 points)
Total: 24 points (please correct me if my math is wrong).
Also working on character BG now, will have it finished soon.
Heya Sunny, I'll be able to join your new IRL campaign soon, just gotta work out a place to move into, and get the little one to settle a bit better, that's all. say hi to the gang for me and the girls.
[edit] ammended the profile completely, and raring to go.

Preliminary will complete her soon, I think you'll find her refreshingly different. Especially for a Paladin.
Sweeeettttttt. I'm so excited for you both. That rounds out the party:
Lilandra Ghoulbane (Very balanced, and I'm sure you'll get to smite the bejesus out of undead. Should be fun.)
Dirk (Oh god what a bruiser. That is all)
Zahur (I like a little darkness in my campaign. Your secular faith will be tested I presume. Also though, that seems like a fair bit of gear. Could I get a quick cost breakdown? I know the horse is free. Just want to take a look. Sorry for any inconvenience)
Sunny (Oh you. *pokes your cheek*)
Ok question. I think everything is in order. I plan to start Monday (busy weekend ahead.) What do we think is the best method for the tactical map when we roll initiative?

Zahur (I like a little darkness in my campaign. Your secular faith will be tested I presume. Also though, that seems like a fair bit of gear. Could I get a quick cost breakdown? I know the horse is free. Just want to take a look. Sorry for any inconvenience)
MW Lance . . . . . . . . . 310gp 10lbs
MW Scimitar . . . . . . . .315gp 4lbs
Javelin x6 . . . . . . . . . . . .6gp 12lbs
MW Armoured Coat . . 200gp 20lbs
Armoured Kilt . . . . . . . .20gp 10lbs
Heavy Wooden Shield . . 7gp 10lbs
Hot Weather Outfit . . . . 8gp 4lbs
Explorer's Outfit . . . . . . .0gp 0lbs
Pouch, belt x2 . . . . . . . . 2gp 1lb
Leather Barding . . . . . .40gp 30lbs*
Total . . . . . . . . . . . . . 898gp 73lbs
*Weight counts towards mount's encumbrance
I assume that the mount comes with bit, bridle, saddle and saddle bags. Please let me know if this is not the case and I will adjust my gear accordingly.
What do we think is the best method for the tactical map when we roll initiative?
I post mainly from work and have to use a proxy server for every site for the tactical maps in the other pbp games I am in, so it doesn't matter to me. Unless I can't get to map with the proxy server. =)

*facepalm* Forgot the rich parents trait. You're fine :)
And I don't know what site to use for the tactical map. Its been a while. Any suggestions?

When I was GMing, I used Google Docs and used a spreadsheet, allocating a colour to each character using primarily black for the buildings, this way it can be amended without having to upload a new pic for each turn, just makes it a little easier is all.
In the example, green were the lower level enemies, brown were the larger different type of enemies (giant farplane worms if I recall correctly), orange was the enemy leader, and the rest were PCs, the lower case non bold lettering is abbreviations of effects the PCs have cast on the creatures.
Just an idea, it worked well for me and a couple of other GMs on here, if not, other idea are out there, like the photobucket idea.
| MuadQuim |
Just a question. Would it be okeys if'n i used these stat modifiers some?
Yea this is pretty balanced honestly. Dwarves get about as many random race features. The only really crazy thing is an automatic swim speed of 40. But that's really no big deal. But I'd be a hugggge wyrm of a GM if I didn't let you have the stats.
Enjoy! :)
