The 2e Al Qadim setting has a creature called a silat that was said to be a type of hag. Silats have shape-shifting powers and they gained polymorph spells as they aged.

Sword and Sorcery's Tome of Horrors has a Fen Witch entry. Pandius.com has a hag called Crone of Chaos.

An old Dragon Magazine Halloween issue detailed a legendary British folk legend called Black Annis. Enworld.org included this in their creature conversions. Some folks here noted that the enworld site triggered virus protection warnings, so be advised.

If you want to broaden a bit, there are also Hag goddesses:

Cegilune -- Various 2E & 3E products including Carl Sargent's Monster Mythology.

Malagarde -- Hag "demigoddess" who Monte Cook created as a new Arch Devil in the 9 Hells for his Book of Vile Darkness and who is later destroyed in Robin Laws' FCII.

Syrul -- The GH goddess of Lies and Deceit is an old Hag.

Do not forget unique hags like BABA YAGA .

Dragonblood , if you are still interested in playing Quinton , let me know

Yes I am actually compiling a hag themed campaign dealing with a coven including Baba Yaga, Cegilune, and Malagarde. It will feature Iggwilv prominently and the WitchWar Legacy.

I am still debating whether I want Baba Yaga to be in charge or Cegilune. Malagarde just doesn't compare in awesomeness to either of them, so most likely she will become one of Cegilune's most favored daughters (I am taking the liberty of allowing an aspect of hers to remain alive when Asmodeus' judgement came down and reshaped Malbolge). Since Baba Yaga isn't any specific type of hag, just a unique, I may go with her as the matriarch and powerhouse behind the coven, because Cegilune only ever achieved lesser deity status, and the tales of Baba Yaga seem more powerful, even though she's only climbed as high as demigod in published works.

There's also the Demon Lord Mestama and the Goddess Gyrona.

robin I do not have the time that I thought I would for that game, please feel free to replace my character and hopefully I can join one of your games in the future. I do appreciate your consideration.

It was only a couple months or so ago when I started a Thread asking about Hags; I'll try to find it and give it a Bump so you can look at it -- I think the only things it has that you may be interested in are the issue numbers of Dragon that feature Hags. But anyway....

Thanks, W E Ray. I do have hardcopies of all the sources I listed (except the website of course), and Dragon #331 (Ecology of the Green Hag), Dragon #345 (Ecology of the Annis Hag), and Monster Ecologies (featuring Ecology of the Night Hag).

I have Monster Mythology also as well as the books regarding Malagarde.

I only wish that we had gotten to see Ecology of the Sea Hag, but everywhere I search I meet with the same complaint so it's old hat at this point.

Thanks for the help.

You know, what you really want to do, if you have any Dungeon issues, is go to the Dungeon Magazine Forum and start a Thread asking Rezdave, one of the Lords of the Boards, to list all the Hags that appeared in Dungeon.

He created a spread sheet that has all the monsters (and pretty much everything else) from Dungeon. Ever.

He can give you a list of probably every Hag ever done in Dungeon, as well as many other sources, with a couple sentences about them.

----------------------------------------------------

Finally, though I know you're only looking for 3E Hags, Paizo does have an entry on Hags in their Classic Horrors Revisited. In addition to a few pages of solid Fluff work, it details a few specific Hags:

Peg o' Ness, a lusciously corpulent Sea Hag who outweighs Mammy Graul;

The "Something" Sisters, a coven;

Unli, an Annis Hag complete with a stat block.

Witchfires were updated to Pathfinder RPG in Bestiary 2, and changelings (from PF 43) are creatures connected to hags.

Dark Archive

Pathfinder #43 states: Ecology When a hag of any sort conceives a child with a man, the result is a changeling.

That's why I put them in with Offpsring.

I do see that Witchfire is in Bestiary II so my next update (if any) will reflect that. Thanks!

I should inlude that Madame Eva (3.5 Expedition to Castle Ravenloft) is statted as an annis hag, but to me she will always just be a Vistani raunie.

Grand Lodge

Eva is NOT a hag.
She is a Vistani gypsy.
She has a daughter named Marushka who takes over when she dies of old age.

Do the world a favor and burn that piece of crap EtCR book. (Well, keep the Castle Ravenloft maps & encounters Chapter.)
