Level 9 Alignment Channel of Blind-Fight?

Would I be better off going with the next three levels in Holy Vindicator or one more level of weapon master fighter and two of cleric? I just gained level 9 and I have about 12,000 gold to spend. I would go with vindicator hands down if Society Play did not end at level 12.

I was going for a classical hero from Video Game RPGs that are skilled with swords and know a bit of healing magic as well. I was also going for the Acrobatic Swordsmen, I was thing of Cloud from FF7.

Thanks for any advice you can give me.

Cloud was a straight up fighter in every way I can imagine, with the slight aside that EVERYONE knew magic in FF7.
I do not see the need for this character to take levels in Ranger, is really just doesn't suit the build very well unless you are trying to get a favored enemy for some specific reason.

That aside you are working with what you've got. At level 9 as I count you SHOULD have 2 more feats left(Assuming that you are a human), so you can get BOTH channel alignment & blind fight but CA is pretty much useless unless you are summoning a lot of monsters to fight for you, or fighting a LOT of extraplanar enemies. Blind fight is universally helpful but I would instead suggest Weapon Specialization (Greatsword) and Extra Channel.

As for level progression I REALLY think you are better off just spending the rest in fighter. At level 11 you will get Reliable strike which is basically a free reroll to hit once a day which is better than anything else you would be getting at that level and it is quite heroic to think about.

the only magic everyone knew in final fantasy 7 was from whatever materia you put on them. so you could theoretically turn a fighter into a gish or any less caapble human into a mage of some sort. and cloud had stats befitting of a gish more than those of a straight fighter. but anyone in that game could theoretically do anything if they have the approriate materia equipped. and character "class" was a matter of synergizing stats to materia in just the right way. and not all materia gave spells.

As far as Cloud goes I was talking about how he was in the movie. As for the healing,I was talking about the main characters from some of the first rpgs I played and the ones that got me hooked on RPGs. The first one and the one that stands out the most to me is one called Lufia for the SNES, and Techmo Secrets of the stars also for the SNES. These are the first two RPGs that I played and the main characters is the core of the ideal for my character. You had a party of four in the games that were made up a Melee high damage character but had little if any mp, a spellcaster that used powerful spells, had a lot of mp, and did little damage when not using spells, Next you had the healer that had alot of mp and powerful healing spells but did little damage. And lastly you had the main character the hero of the story who did good damage just a little below the melee guy, but could cast magic mainly healing and protection spells but not as powerful as the healer, and had an ok amount of mp.

My character is a half-elf and the reason I took the two levels in ranger (Beast Master) was to add Perception and Acrobatics as class skill. I will have a +18 for acrobatics (+23 for Jump), and a +17 for Perception.

Thanks for the help, I am going with fighter and cleric for my last levels.

I have fond memories of that game... and it was pretty representative of that genre. I would say that most of the hero-types in games like that were very paladin-y in capability, sometimes a little more arcane-like.

Fighter.

Yes that's true, most hero-types in games are paladin likes or magus like.
