Right, I'm planning on having various awakened animals be a frequent enemies in a new part of my campaign, the only problem I'm having is I can't tell if there is a CR adjustment with an awakened animal. I know that you gain +2 HD through awakening, but I don't know if that translates to +2 CR.
Any thoughts?
I'd give awakened animals +1 CR, due to the extra HD and the intelligence.

I know that this doesn't technically answer your question, but if you would like to use awakened animals as enemies in your campaign, you should really give "The Noble Wild" a shot...
I think it deals with the concept of awakened animals better that what is provided in the RAW...
YMMV...
