Monk using staff and flurry of blows

Rules Questions

Greetings and nice to see the bustling activity here on this forum.

My straightforward question from a non-native English speaking person like myself is;

How many attacks and what modifiers would a first level monk get using a quarterstaff as a double weapon in a flurry of blows?

2? 3? and what would the modifiers be in such case.

Thanks in advance for input.

They would get two. Using a double weapon does not increase the number of attacks t6he monk gets. It just allows them to switch ends as they see fit.

A level 1 it has no effect really at all other than to look damn cool.

It matters more at higher levels or if the quarterstaff is enchanted since bothe nds need the magic.

Scarab Sages

The monk would use the normal flurry of blows base attack bonuses (-1/-1) and would make only two attacks. Those attacks could be with the quarterstaff, any unarmed strike, or any combination of those.

Flurry of blows functions as fighting with two weapons, as does fighting with both ends of a double weapon.

Edit: ninja'd!

2 attacks at –1/–1.

Don't forget to add Strength modifier to hit, and any other spells, feats, or abilities.

There is a Flurry of Blows attack bonus column on Table: Monk. You can view it online here

Thanks.
