good god! I did not expect THAT colour, almost neon, looks like watery Limoncello
conclusion:
I like it, tastes good (could use a little more carbonation) with it's high caffeine I can understand why it's popular in the gaming world.
I could see myself buy it if it would be more available

well, last year we went to Stockholm to see Iron Maiden and where chased from the Festival by a Rainstorm, so we will see if Olso can do better to us
but Oslo will have a hard tine to give us as great a time as we had in Stockholm. Great City you have there!
*grins* I know you're trying, but... seeing as I have my roots in Göteborg, praising Stockholm is a lot like enumerating the greatness of Berlin to someone from Bayern (or some such, whatever is the biggest regional conflict in Germany). ;)

I came to the conclusion earlier today that, of the mass-produced root beers, A&W is my favorite.
My roommate Mike was applying to BC Law, but he didn't want to write the application essay about overcoming obstacles, so he paid our other roommate, Omar, $50 to do it. Needing inspiration, Omar reached for a 12-pack of Bud and whipped up a tale of hardship and destitution on the mean streets of Brockton (a city south of Boston with a not terribly genteel reputation). Mike had a twin brother, Matt, who had battled crack addiction and spent some time in correctional institutions--I don't remember all the details, but Omar wrote about it and put a whole "there but for fortune go I" spin on it.Speaking of Brockton, Mass...
I've never been there, but once I was out drinking with Mike in some student bar in Brighton once. It was getting busy, but it was still somewhat early in the evening, so the bouncer was helping out the bartender. He was a very tough-looking black gentlemen that you would've had to been either a trained pugilist or very inebriated to even think of messing with.
Mike and I were chatting up some of the ladies and Mike mentioned that he was from Brockton. The bouncer looked up with feigned fear. "Brockton?" he asked and then put up his hands in a pleading gesture, "Look, man, we don't want no trouble here!" Mike got very red in the face. Hee hee!
Re: The Dropkick Murphys, a friend of mine from high school put out their first 7" on his Cyclone Records label. 'Tis true!
Unfortunately, the quality of the recording wasn't terribly great and they never asked to re-release it after they got big. Instead of hitting paydirt, my friend now ekes out a living as a Xerox salesman. Punk rock, indeed!

Pick up some Chiclets beforehand, break one (or more) into irregular chunks.
Grab some corn syrup & red food dye, mix to get fake blood consistency.
While eating with the offending parent, crunch loudly on something (be sure to order a food with walnuts/rocks/shells) like ice or peanut shells.
Grab cheek with tears in eyes, pull out "bloody" broken section of Chiclet, be sure to get fingers all goopy while you do so.
Boom, instant (fake) dental emergency, for less than 10 bucks, and a graceful exit from the unwanted scene.

Yup...Dune, Messiah, Children, God-Emperor, Heretics, Chapterhouse. It's been a while since I've read them, however.
The Brian Herbert continuations are pretty decent as well, but they don't hold a candle to his pops' work. That's unsurprising, really, since they are by definition derivative.
Let's put it this way, in my current Kingmaker campaign, one of the PCs has started an organization called the Mel'asae, which takes young girls in, teaches them the ways of information gathering, combat, divine magic, courtly manners, courtesan tricks, and indoctrinates them into this huge "Pro-Kingdom Inquisition." Yes, she basically recreated the Bene Gesserit.
Gnomes, meanwhile, have been driven out of the kingdom, marginalized, and are busy experimenting with strange new technologies, wilderness survival, and acquisition/taming of enormous wild beasts. So, the Fremen.
It's safe to say, I liked the books... :)

yesterday I was at the stadium for Womens World Cup Germany vs Nigeria
dam was that match bad. and boring. and bad. boringly bad
the worst match our Ladys have played in years.

I've never thought football is boring. It's way more interesting (and fun to play) than American football and baseball.*
But it's lame that it was so boring.

i think Sport has a lot to do with upbringing and bonding.
if Soccer is the thing you learned as little kid from your dad, played in elementary school, talked about with your best friends, weatched with your family - it will be your game forever.If you had that experience with Baseball, Basketball, Euro-Handball that will be the game closest to your heard
A sport I discovered as a adult would be Rugby, but not much chance to watch it in Germany
Euro-Handball is another sport beside soccer I often went to see with my Dad but I did not follow it closely

Yeah, I've never much focussed on the differences between our three clear sodas. Mountain Dew, Sprite, 7up, and Sierra Mist taste very, very similar.

I would recommend not drinking that crap, especially as most Germans don't like root beer (testimony from two independent sources). If you have any option, drink something other than A&W. It's not real root beer: Very little natural flavours (very little flavour for that matter), sickly-sweet, and usually flat. I don't even use it for root beer floats.
So if you don't like A&W, please don't assume all root beer is bad. A&W is to root beer what the current Coke is to old-style Coke (except normal root beer doesn't have coke in it).
Kinzigtal Sunrise (that would be Fulda Gab Sunrise for US Military Guys):
Apfelwein glas
pour in 2cl Grenadine
add 4 Ice Cubes
slowly pour in Apfewein up to 3/4 of glass
slowly pour in white grapefruit juice
a few dashes Grenadine on top
alcohol free version:
use 1cl Grenadine
Apfelwein to 3/5 of glass
more Grapefruit juice
