Ah, mnemonics. I am rather hammy, you know.

Yes. A combination of not making enough money to cover my bills and the fact that I'm really not tempermentally suited to spending this much time on the phone is leading me to seek a new job.

Hey guys.

Just got pulled into a "meeting" with my boss about the deficiencies that were brought up in the last "meeting" I had with my supervisor on Friday. I was pulled into this meeting while I was physically in the process of trying to handle one of the items brought up in the last meeting on Friday. Apparently I am supposed to work on Saturday and Sunday to address things even though we are closed. Either that or being yelled at about something is more important than actually fixing it.

I've had enough. I'm looking for work elsewhere. I'm truly disgusted that it has come to this and I will try to leave with grace as I have could use the referral /reference. But enough is enough. Every decision I make can't be the wrong one *every* time. When "prioritize" becomes code for "work faster/be in two places at once" something is wrong.

So someone is making me watch "Firefly" we shall see if it lives up to the hype. Hey Freehold DM what did you think of "Firefly"?

The Exchange

Firefly was very good, not perfect, so few things are; but rather a great all around show. Cancelled before something stupid really creeped into the show.

as with most things by whedon, I liked it better the first time when it was called (insert name of anime here). In this case, it was Outlaw Star. With the occasional Cowboy Bebop flourish.

Those themes used, were very similar and there are many different shows that used the same themes. Whedon along with many other directors have been accused of the same thing. Outlaw star is good, so was Cowboy Bebop, but like apples and oranges are both fruit, they are not the same , just like firefly is different from those yet was a TV show as well.

I had a friend in public accounting that was given "priorities" from 6 different supervisors...who all knew that their priority was higher than any of the other five's priorities. She finally told them all to get together, go through they things they wanted her to do, and prioritize them together.

They came back to her with a 7 day/wk schedule...22 hours / day were assigned to different supervisors.

She quit not long after.

Our baby’s first day of childcare today ... as if in anticipation she didn’t sleep last night, and spent from 8pm until 2am crying anytime she wasn’t being held.

She cried again on being given to the carer this morning, but not as badly as we might have thought. I am so tired today though, and ache all over. Ugh. I don’t feel this bad when I get to bed at 2 after playing Pathfinder, but then I don’t spend most of the night walking around holding a baby, or have to work the next day generally.

Meh. I will give you the run on Xmen, mainly because I never read it, but mostly because of what I heard made me not want to read it.

Buffy wasn't bad, just the last season or so, well it made me wonder what the hell people were thinking. Now the fan boys will say Joss was not involved in the last couple of seasons, but lets face it, it was still his baby and well, it was as if he ran out of ideas and forced his cash cow on someone else.

Liberty's Edge

Joss was still fairly heavily involved in seasons six and seven, though not as head writer.

I have mixed feelings about the last two seasons. I think ending things at the end of season five would have been a good finish, but although six and seven aren’t the strongest seasons, they have some very good episodes (Once More With Feeling and Tabula Rasa from season six are two of my favourites for example).

I know you prolly know that.

You are right of course and I have cooled down a bit. I'm going to try to address as many of these discrepancies as possible in the coming days, I should have everything taken care of by the end of the month. As usual, but that's not something my supervisor or boss want to hear.

My supervisor met with me at the end of the day today, apologetic for what happened with my boss. She wanted to make sure I was okay and get my thoughts on the issue. I was brutally honest when I said I felt like being yelled at was more important than actually trying to fix anything, and that I really didn't have a chance to do anything over the weekend. She apologized and tried to strategize new ways of handling things with me, and told me her door was always open, etc. But she's really just driving another nail into the coffin here. As I said before, I'm tired of being treated like I'm always wrong, and "prioritize" meaning "be psychic and know what I want you to do and how I want you to do it before I even tell you!". My supervisor stated that bureaucracy and things going wrong are part of the occupation we chose, but there's only so much stupidity I can take.
