I really like Far Cry 6 so far, there's not the constant barrage of b#*&$!# action you get in Far Cry 5 but there is still a phenomenal amount of carnage.
And yes, there is an early ending though not as early as 5 (the only other Far Cry game I've played).
I'm not sure how realistic having an improvised rocket launcher strapped to your back is but I appreciate the gesture.
And I absolutely love how they show you "healing" from wounds. Basically a combination of setting your wrist yourself, burning your wounds with a cigar and popping an entirely unhealthy amount of pills.
Far Cry 3 and 4 had those as well (with Far Cry Blood Dragon, which was a homage to B-class SF action movies of late 80s going really over the top at times), apparently cutting down the number of self-healing animations was one of the points of criticism against Far Cry 5.

In another sign of the changing seasons, as of yesterday the Calico (yes, the one I didn't think was going to live to see May) has moved back to our bedroom.
So, everyone talks about global climate change and the catastrophic weather events it's causing throughout the world. Because catastrophes make news. Here in Albany we're getting the exact opposite effect: I've lived within 10 miles of the hospital in which I was born for 49 years. In every single one of those years, inevitably, at some point in September or October, we've had a few days in a row of 90˚F+ temperatures, referred to until recently as "Indian summer".
Not this year. We've had two days of exactly 90˚F: One in June and one in September. And nothing over.
It's very bizarre, and it indicates that something has fundamentally shifted in our climate around here.
Just because it's comfortable doesn't mean it's not alarming.

Yes, college homecoming. One thing we don't really have to deal with is teenagers partying. We require you to be 21 to rent a room, and our prices are high enough that kids looking to party will generally stay elsewhere (also, there are a couple of cheap hotels nearby that have the reputation of 'anything goes', so parties happen at those places). If they do try to stay here, they either aren't able to rent a room-due to being under 21-or get thrown out pretty quickly when we realize what's happening.

I went to sleep in a cave, and when I awoke, I was on the soft, mossy sward of a Dying World, where I became the most powerful man on the planet just by leaping about in the nude.

Wondering again if my son is on the spectrum. We went to get our flu shots, and just liked last year, he completely lost his s*** and punched and kicked me repeatedly while I tried to hold him.
It doesn't hurt much since he's only eight, but it was a little unnerving.
Friends kid who defenitely is on the spectrum did that a while back when blood needed to be drawn for lab work.

I did some of that as a kid, not because I'm on the spectrum, but because I had a phobia of needles when I was that age.

Four people had to hold me down.
What helps me is closing my eyes and see how high I can count until they tell me I'm done.

Is he afraid of blood or needles? That could have been a panic attack.

I don't know. The Isekai concept is so shojo for me, I don't know what I would do in such a world.

My isekai choice would be to wake up in a futuristic utopia where nobody works for money (because it doesn't exist, there are enough resources for all), but merely for personal fulfillment. Plus, I'd be a celebrity because of my insight to what Earth was like in the later 20th and early 21st centuries.

I don't particularly like Isekai genre in the first place and I vehemently refuse to play characters based on myself when playing RPGs.

Also: is there any way in PF1 that any of you know how to increase a spell with a range of 0 ft. to something above that?
Also, also, does a spell with 0 ft. range include you in its effect? What does that mean, and how does that differ from "touch"?
The Reach Spell metamagic feat.
EDIT: Added link, and if your oracle doesn't have it she's not playing right.
EDIT 2: And yes, going back to gran's question, are there any spells that have a range of 0 that aren't touch?

Huh. You learn something new every day:
Arcane Mark (Sor/Wiz 0)
Clone (Sor/Wiz 8)
Flame Blade (Drd 2)
Ironwood (Drd 6)
Minor Creation (Sor/Wiz 4)
Phantom Steed (Brd 3, Sor/Wiz 3)
Phase Door (Travel 8, Sor/Wiz 7)
Produce Flame (Fire 2, Drd 1)
Simulacrum (Sor/Wiz 7)
Summon Instrument (Brd 0)
Symbol of Death (Clr 8, Sor/Wiz 8)
Symbol of Fear (Clr 6, Sor/Wiz 6)
Symbol of Insanity (Clr 8, Sor/Wiz 8)
Symbol of Pain (Clr 5, Sor/Wiz 5)
Symbol of Persuasion (Clr 6, Sor/Wiz 6)
Symbol of Sleep (Clr 5, Sor/Wiz 5)
Symbol of Stunning (Clr 7, Sor/Wiz 7)
Symbol of Weakness (Clr 7, Sor/Wiz 7)
Teleportation Circle (Sor/Wiz 9)
All apparently have a range of 0. And therefore Reach Spell doesn't work for them.
EDIT: Looks like Arcane Mark got changed to a range of touch, but many of the others still have a range of 0, and I've been dragged into Phasmophobia so I can't check any more.

Okay, but now I want to know why someone would want to increase the range of these spells. All of them (except Phase Door) only affect you and/or have a long enough casting time that it seems unlikely that you could have the time to cast them, but not be able to reach the point where you want the effect to take place.

Not trying to sound like I'm attacking you, but that's one of my major pet peeves: Telling someone that they're playing their character wrong. As long as they are within the rules and any restrictions/requirements placed by the GM, then they are playing it right. It may not be the way you would do it, or the most "optimal" way, but it is their character. The way they want to play it is the "right" way to play it.

A surprisingly large number of spells have a range of "0 ft." and that range is, unfortunately, defined as not being included in either touch or close range, negating the two otherwise seemingly valuable metamagic feats.

Yeah, and this is not a comprehensive list.
(I was dinged by arcane mark, too!)I ended up making a thread, but there isn't really much in the way of insight there, either.

"Various reasons" is the most succinct manner it can be described.
There are a lot of situations in which a given spell could be useful to be "over there" instead of "right here" instead, and that includes these "range 0 ft." spells - also a bit hard to determine where in your space it appears... but that's neither here nor there.EDIT: combined two posts into one
