Good Morning, FAWTL!! I need to start posting in here again more. Stupid life distracting me. :) We are under 2 months until hockey season starts. How is everyone else?

Gloom is fair and agony on me!
Deep, dark depression; excessive misery!
If it weren't for bad luck, I'd have no luck at all!
Gloom is fair and agony on me!I've barely gotten fixes done from Irene, I'm still working on what I had to drop for hurricane preparations, I was way behind before that. And the hospital re-certification inspection is in less than a month.
Boss calls me in this morning.
"I need you to get creative and make me a display quality prescription drop-off box to mount on the glass wall of the pharmacy. But don't use wood. Meet with the pharmacist and get back with me."WTF!?!?!? I'm a carpenter not a miracle worker!
Sigh.
At least I'm a valued employee.Oh, and GOOD MORNING FAWTLy!
Carry on, b!**#in' over.
Batten down the hatches.
welcome back been a bit since you posted here abouts.
Don't. Use. Wood.??? Mornings are going to be tough.

BT, sorry to hear about life being life. I do hope things turn around for you.
I do miss Lindy. She was the thread librarian. And librarians are sooooo HAWT!!!!!!
In a weird moment that parallels what the stereotypical non-NYer thinks about NY, there was a guy who was standing outside our window last night screaming at random intervals for absolutely no reason. Kept my wife up alllllllllllllll night. She was singing happily in the morning and basically being pleasant to be around, but told me that was solely because she didn't get any sleep last night and was a little crazy. I fear for the rest of the day...

That NYer's were crazy? Knew that!

In other news, here's hoping the stress level goes down as the temps drop for autumn, BT.
And, I'm thinking of going to the ol' County Fair this weekend. Farm Animals, third tier country music, demolition derbies and fresh roasted peanuts.

I haven't seen Lindy with a firearm, but I don't she'd be OK with that either.
I do miss Uri though.
BTW, if any FAWTLies are ever near Colorado Springs, and I'm in state I'm happy to do the crash pad or tour guide thing!
I think that most FAWTLies are similar -- we should make a list of where people are for when we all travel.

Agreed it would be cool to at least meet up with anyone that comes through Minneapolis.

Actually, I'm planning on needing to go to Minneapolis sometime soon...
(But probably won't be on the best of times...)Just a long way to say that it wouldn't surprise me if I get that email/phone call that tells me that they've died and then I'll be going up there for the funeral.

Watching this, I've reached the following conclusions:
- Somewhat mainstream culture need more Northern Soul inspired video;
- Paddy Considine does a mean slightly-hunched-over-waiting pose, and;
- I'm not sure what Mark Brydon answered to the first thing Roísin Murphy asked him, but I strongly suspect I'd have said, "Yes, and that's not the only thing."

Last year, I was helping my partner shoot some night photos from a street corner in L.A. and there was a guy down the street yelling nonsense at passing cars. After a little while, he noticed us and started walking towards us (still screaming at cars), but then got really quiet when he reached where we were. "What kind of camera is that?" he asked. My partner told him. "Oh, does that have [insert seriously technical camera specs]?" He carried on a brief, highly technical conversation about megapixel counts, image stabilization, and on-camera light meters. Then said, "Well, you have a good evening," and went back to screaming at traffic.
One of the most surreal experiences I have ever had.

I'm sure you've had plenty of experiences in your line of work to confirm this... I think too often we assume that people with serious mental illness are unintelligent. Of course, it's not true - they can be just as intelligent, educated, and well-informed as anybody else. This experience served as a good reminder for me.

Nicholas Joseph Patrick, born this afternoon. 10# 5 ounces, 21" long.
Yes, his parents (my niece and her husband) are tall. His dad used to be a lineman for MSU. Nick's 2 yr old brother is a big boy too!
Glad to hear it and Congratulations!

So you're saying I should just post a weight limit sign on my forhead and get used to it?
*sigh* ;)

Take lots of pictures. My oldest just turned 10 and is pretty well over 5 feet tall. It's still hard to believe that he was ever a baby...
