So hi guys. Haven't popped in for a while. New job as you know. Kept me pretty busy. Also a new girlfriend, so, ya know, there's that.
Just thought I'd say hi before I finish rolling up a nice green fatty, at which point if I do come talk on here, I will go off on long, stupid tangents that make no sense.
Man it's nice to have disposable income again.

There's no snow here! Ever! Unless you go to Snow City. I don't KNOW how to shovel snow.
It's easy. Get shovel. Use shovel to move snow from where you don't want it to somewhere else (I prefer to put it in the neighbor's driveway). Repeat until done.

gran rey de los mono wrote:Well, since 2nd shift didn't feel like doing her job, I just cleared the snow from the main entrance. It was about 3" deep, with some drifts over 5". And of course it's still snowing, so I'll have to go and shovel some more later. Hopefully not too much, but some.that is less than a scint of snow. What a lazy so and so.
You and your crazy made-up units of measurement. Use a unit that everyone can understand. Like the Smoot.

But…wouldn’t that be inconsiderate to your neighbour?
Hrr Hmm. One of my players has been saying that I’ve been moving things too fast, from one quest related point to the other.
Frankly – like I’ve told the group that I’ve noticed that whenever I’m not pushing them from one quest point to another – their activity decreases.
To me – the message is pretty clear – the rest of the party want to murderhobo stuff.
I wonder if the person who is complaining I’m moving things too fast notices…I’ll probably smack him with the evidence after a few days of letting him RP around. To his credit, he’s keeping me entertained, since I can be entertained both by RP or a good fight, take your pick. What I don’t really care for is when no one posts and I have nothing to do…
I’m all happy to RP, or just run the entire AP as a slaughterfest, I’m all easy. Sure there will be people who say that I’m doing things wrong etc, but my opinion is that if your players want it that way, by all means run it that way to keep em happy. Since I don’t have any strong opinions either way, when it comes to RPing or fighting your way out of things.
Actually at the end of the day, despite my anality about rules, I really do try to give my players freedom to do whatever they want. The non teleporting clause was because if they did so, they’d end up in the next book 3 levels early and I have no clue how to adjust for that…and told them to the face about the consequences.

In general, if I see a player-recruiting thread, I check out the GM's history before applying by checking their various aliases. If they've run or played in any PbPs in the past that they've disappeared from or dropped, the risk isn't worth it. I broke my own rule twice, and both times the game died very early, before even the first encounter.
I have dropped PBPs as a player when I feel that I have not been fairly treated. Players have rights too.
Hmm. Is it worth creating a new thread asking the paizo boards what they feel makes a PBP one that is likely to last?

The lengths people will go to for food...
My BF tells me about this offer. Now I don't eat cheesecake...or cheese made things, but whatever, I'll just humor him.
Cue me going to the store during lunch time. Long queue. Fine, lunch people are free, long queue is to be expected.
So I try a different approach. I go there at 4 pm in the day, when people are SUPPOSED to be working. 30 jokers standing in line.
*Throws up paws in exasperation and paddy paws back to the office*
Conclusion:Singaporeans love to queue. If you go to a hawker center in Singapore and don't know what food is good... Just go to the stall with the longest queue...

Why do people want to shovel snow? I mean besides it needing to be done...it sounds like cold work and makes me want to hide under blankets!
*Pushes kitty out, from under the covers, into the cold snow*
*Reaches out, from under the pile of covers, to hang a sign on it saying: ocupado!*
*A pleasant sigh can be heard from under the covers*

So, I've said before how much I despise people using the term "flu" to describe their mild colds.
Shiro brought the real, honest-to-goodness flu back from his work trip. From Sunday night until this morning I was semiconscious with a 102+ fever. Impus Minor decided to do be one better and be at 103+. Think about that: No appetite; no thirst; just a desire to lay there and do nothing, hour, after hour, day after day. It's no wonder this thing's a killer.
So yeah, people say, "I have the flu" and I ask, "Do you have someone monitoring you? Do you need me to drive you to the ER?"
They look at me askance.
Proving that whatever they have isn't remotely related to the real thing.

NO FAIR! I WANNA SHOVEL SNOW TOO!
My sister and her family are living in Brooklyn at the moment. The snow was more or less up to my niece's armpits a couple of weeks ago (even though she is around half to two thirds of a Scint in height), and given the general conditions, I'm pretty sure that'll happen again.

Heya! I'm back...
Again...
Maybe for good...
Who knows?
Anyhoo, I'm also getting snow out here in eastern Ohio, but I like snow, and haven't actually had to shovel that much of it...
More importantly, just a question... but has anyone else seen play-throughs/played the Doki-doki literature club game yet? (if you have, remember no spoilers outside spoiler captions)

I think that may be a cultural thing. I know that half of my family not living in the country calls everything the flu because a "cold" does't make sense in their version of spanish, but influenza does- and you better get to the hospital, because that has awful connotations. It is also possible to have a cough- and only a cough. That might be their version foa cold, who knows? But I am also familiar with people calling anything up to and including the flu a cold as well, possibly because of the horrifying implciations of the word flu. I am also familiar with anything above a certain temperature being called the flu, anything less is a cold and you should get back to school/work no matter how miserable you feel.

I know the games are getting MAJOR buzz nowadays, I have heard nothing but good things. I haven't played any of them, but I would like to. Bring back some old memories of classic H games...

Well, this one has introduced itself pretty well:
If it's not the flu, it's doing a darned good impression.
Fortunately, whatever it is, ibuprofen is its bete noir; 400 mg of ibuprofen kills the fever for a good 4-6 hours, allowing necessities such as eating and drinking.
But yeah, this thing is downright dangerous. We're worried about Hi. Shiro got it first and he takes decent care of himself. Impus Minor and I have NobodysWife to watch over us. We managed to convince Hi to abandon his homeless ways and check into a hotel for the duration, but we still need to check up on him. He's definitely a "tough it out" kind of guy.
EDIT: I'm a big believer in, "If a gallon of dilute apple juice and a day lying around in bed doing nothing doesn't kill it, I'm impressed."
This one took 36 hours of solid bed rest, but I'm definitely thinking I'm on the rebound.

I am weird when I am sick.
Most days, I am of the "The flu? Bah! NOTHING stops Freehold!" frame of mind.
When I get sick, this becomes "Please take care of me!"
I croak out my requests for hugs and cuddles, and I have been known to be...amorous...when very ill. I also become ravenously hungry, to the point I will eat anything, even okra and grits. If I am not demanding love, food, or both, I am probably asleep, having incredibly vivid dreams of food, love or both.
