Yay, the computer lost my entire profile (including bookmarks). Go windows!
That was about 3 years' worth of random stuff I wrote. Some of it was backed up, but what with not having much memory space on here or the Linux computer (from dad's work), I lost a fair bit of stuff that I actually cared about (better part of a novel, random name generator, almost all of my schoolwork [well, I don't care so much about that], and several part-done adventures). I'm sure I'll think of more stuff that I lost later.
At least it didn't somehow wipe my email. (I don't use Outlook.)
Argh! That is harsh, man. I'm sorry to hear that.

Another small consolation: Paizo remembered me (because it caches for accounts, not so much using cookies, I think)! It said "2 new" in the Bulmahnauts thread.

Pretty sure I'm still missing stuff, but I think I'm close enough to restored bookmarks for now. (One more thing: I had a s@*!load of videos and games (I couldn't play on this computer) bookmarked, but it was more like a healthy purgation there than the rest of stuff.)
Purgation isn't a word?
purging would be the word you're looking for.

Nope, not the word I'm looking for. Perfectly happy with making my own words here.

purgation /pəːˈgeɪʃ(ə)n/ ●n. 1 purification. ►(in Catholic doctrine) the spiritual cleansing of a soul in purgatory. 2 historical the action of clearing oneself of accusation or suspicion by an oath or ordeal. 3 evacuation of the bowels brought about by laxatives.
- ORIGIN ME: from Ofr. purgacion, from L. purgatio(n-), from purgare (see PURGE).
I'm going to go with definition #1.

You sure it's not definition three?

Healthy bowels, healthy soul.
Shooting the tines is the Cheliaxian way of flipping someone off, which I believe was invented by Dave Gross, and I am desperately seeking info and visuals of the same.
Yeah, they touched on that during the "Future of Paizo Fiction" seminar. Dave Gross said he didn't have a particular favourite of all the interpretations floating around out there. I can't remember it perfectly, but someone said that they liked (one interpretation) because it reminded them of the old "read between the lines."

It's no match for a good blaster.
So, how many did you recognize?
Good ol' Vera.
(I had seen the shows/movies for about four of those. Though I don't know why Hellboy is in there . . .)

A line I can't hear enough times...
JAKE: That's just a rock. A low-level enemy.
The first Google hit for searching the bolded text.
Edit: fixed link.

I guess b/c of the Rock Wraith? Sounds like a kind of dumb monster.

It's on my list, but I've yet to read it.

O_o!!!!!!!!!!
What have you been doing while laid up? There is nothing better you can do while prone than reading Canticle. Nothing. At all.
EDIT: Don't read any reviews or Cliff's Notes, either. Just read the book and enjoy. No spoilers. Eeeeeeeeeeeeee.

Never heard of it.
And NPR is taking a while to send me that confirmation email. I remember last time I tried to register to talk ABOUT YOUNG'UNS they told me I was too young (have to be 18) and I sent them a pissed-off email.

Oh, I've read a TON. I'll pick up a copy of Canticle when it shows up on the dollar clearance shelf.

*dies*
I'd send you my copy, but it's one of my most precious possessions. You might consider coughing up as much as a buck-fifty for it, you know. :PEDIT: Canticle is right up your alley in so many ways. I'm dying to know your opinion of it.

I find it funny that in the lead-in for the rules they mention Earthsea, which a) I read as a child, b) I thought was YA, and c) LeGuin seems to think was YA. And then one of the rules was "no YA." I suppose Catching Fire wouldn't qualify, by their rules?
*Writers I know have written for young adult.

You know what NPR? I DON'T CARE. You fired Emily Harris. She was cool. And you stole Coldplay music for Here and Now. And you got rid of World Have Your Say.
(See what I'm doing here is equating NPR with my local station.)
Maybe they're not letting me register because I gave them my email last time and said I wasn't 18 and they are trying to keep people from telling the truth at first and then lying just to get on. But probably not (it's just for legality).
