what always helps me is the realization and acceptance of the fact that this is the internet. I love paizo. I love the messageboards. I would enter carnal relations with the FAWTL thread if I could. However, this is the internet, where people lose their s**# and get into vitriolic arguments where threats of death ensue over the most minor of disagreements, fall over laughing until stomach cramps ensue because a cat did something slightly cute, and third parties call the police to an acquaintances house in another state due to a spectacularly bad case of broken telephone in a live chat session. ** spoiler omitted ** long story short, Keep interactions low-key. Conserve anger for when it's really important. And never, ever let a troll get to you.Man, I've been running into a lot of old threads lately that, when combined with a raft of more recent posts, have made me feel less and less respectful and more and more frustrated at some folks who, though I tend to disagree with them, I at least found intelligent and rational. :/

I play plenty of PC games myself, but RPGs are a platform that requires console controller command/input format. I've tried playing emulated SNES/Gameboy/GBA/DS games via computer keyboard and it is a PAIN.
Uh... My experience is exactly opposite: controllers are crap, mouse plus keyboard is so much better...
Using three middle fingers instead of thumb is much more comfortable, handy, quicker, and less tiring for me. Also, keyboard does not need to be held unlike controllers.
And don't get me started on modern analog controllers that replaced microswitch-based directional buttons... Argh. That is more of a complaint on games in real time, though, like beat-em ups, not RPGs.
And I've never seen one use a mouse at all.

I personally find holding the controller a plus, as I move around a lot when I play games like that.

Well that would be the disconnect. I certainly can't see playing NWN or WoW or those sort of games with a controller.

Well, you are to blame for my 5th and 6th time playing Skyrim. The 5th time had issues because of a bad disk. Level 53 carcter deleted. Having siad that, I am glad that it happened. This playthrough has been fun. I am using a limited fast travel rule. I am only able to fast travel between the capitals nad my house(s) once I get a carrage at them. Make the game a lot longer and more interesting when you have to walk EVERYWHERE. Having said that, the third time up the 5000 steps became VERY boring.

Finally we agree on something.
Though, I had to shut down one of my D&D players the other day when she insisted that female Shepard was the *only* Shepard. I mean, Jennifer Hale is a great actress, but if they weren't both viable options, the game wouldn't let you pick your class & gender at the beginning.

ME1 DLC is useless. Lair of the Shadow Broker for ME2 is awesome, and Overlord is pretty good too (Firewalker is kind of lame, but it's free, and Stolen Memory is a cool cheap one-shot mission). For ME3, definitely pick up Omega, Leviathan, and especially Citadel. I've heard that From the Ashes was also fairly good, but the premise didn't grab me enough to make me want to buy it.
Speaking of expansions, is Dragon Age: Awakening worth buying?

My tech instructor is a smart and knowledgeable guy, but I'll be damned if he doesn't absolutely butcher the English language. A sampling:
"That's not what he does, it's just not in his genre."
"It's OK, but in the long run it just doesn't carry any mustard."
"I don't want to make an escape goat out of you, but..."
In addition, he refers to locknuts as "lockouts," specific is rendered "pacific," and any time we do any math, he tells us to make sure our "calcutations" are right (they are, of course, done on a "calcutator"). It's going to be a long five months.
