British Steel is an epic album.
I'm a huge fan of their early albums. Rocka-Rolla, Sad Wings of Destiny, Sin After Sin.
Last Rose of Summer , not only one of the first metal ballads, but may be the best ballad ever.

BT your drunk posts are fun. I also wonder if you take a look at them the next day or so and say to yourself, "why."
My filter is much more porous on many levels when I drunk post. Sometimes that's not too bad, but it can be pretty melancholy or passionate. I have experienced a huge amount of personal loss and tragedy, and I try to limit how much of that I share online so I don't come off as a whiny sympathy hound and because I'm an intensely private man by nature. I feel more free to share some personal pain on this thread, but I endeavor to keep it to appropriate levels. Drunk posting doesn't help to maintain those boundaries.
I work very hard on the political threads to be well reasoned over intensity and passion, but it's a struggle even when sober. When I'm drunk posting I come across as even more of a radical nut than a reasoned participant. It's probably a waste of time to argue with fanatics, but it's hard to ignore blatant falsehood and stupidity.
So when I ask "why" the next day or so it's less out of regret for what I posted than why do I get online when I'm drinking. :)
EDIT: I'm more fanatic than many, but at least I'm at peace and honest with my fanaticism for individual liberty.

For what it's worth, the few times that you have posted in political threads, I found your posts to be well reasoned and substantive.
Quality over quantity. (and you never seem to drunk post unlike me.)

I find posting to be a very frustrating way to communicate. I'm quite articulate in person, but I truly struggle with the written word.

I don't think I have ever heard Fear of the Dark before. However much I like some Maiden I can't say as to the fact that I have heard nearly any or all of their works.

*Note that I don't count Jugulator or Demolition as actual Priest Albums. They are beneath my notice.
Bah! Jugulator isn't bad of an album. The title track (that scream at the 3:18 mark is boss) and especially Cathedral Spires is an excellent song. The conclusion of that track still sends chills down my spine.
Some folks also write-off Maiden's The X Factor and Virtual XI for similar reasons. Sign Of The Cross is an excellent song (and Bruce has since sung the track live instead of doing the "I'm not singing that song because I wasn't a part of the band" attitude that others pull) and perhaps my favorite from that era: The Edge Of Darkness.
EDIT: There's also an awesome fan video of The Edge Of Darkness that I really enjoy as I like how the cuts were interlaced with the movie Apocalypse Now.

I find posting to be a very frustrating way to communicate. I'm quite articulate in person, but I truly struggle with the written word.

Okay, so I kinda like what I've heard of early Judas Priest. Never been able to enjoy Iron Maiden, though. Some of their stuff have good intros, but then someone will start singing, and that's goodbye from me.

D'oh, thought you were adding some Sisters of Mercy; for a second. That video is amazing (strange cold-war spoof that it is). Of course, Priest and Maiden are something every good Englishman should be weaned on.

Poles love Iron Maiden (well maybe not everyone). On the other hand (If I recall correctly) Czech or Slovakian flight controllers requested Dickinson to sing a bit for them before they allow his plane to land in their airport - Dickinson is professional airline pilot and he often flies over Central Europe, or at least he flew here regularly in the past.
Also, Fear used to be unofficial anthem of habuitual patrons of pub where lots of gamers hanged on.
Anybody here game in San Francisco, or know mature people that do?

habe you seen the "behind the iron curtain" maiden vid, when they toured poland in the 80s and somehow after a concert ended up at a polish wedding and tool over from the wedding band during the breaks?
