Huh...things look weird.

It shows other people's posts instead of mine, and then I post and they disappear. I'm not sure if I should nakedly celebrate or not. Ah, heck, I better should, just to be sure.

Scarab Sages

Good morning FAWTLY Folk. Happy Wednesday! The wife decided to take a break from work today (which she desperately needed), so I'm in the office earlier than what's become usual. Reminds me of the old days.

The Exchange

Or maybe that's just for me. Because I'm all awesome like that.

Scarab Sages

I've actually been here for about an hour now, but had some stuff to take care of right away.

Scarab Sages

Same here. No problems on my end. It must be TEH AWESOME!

Scarab Sages

NEED MORE COFFEE!!!

The Exchange

And I'm off to work myself. Meetings this morning. Yay...

The Exchange

Yes, COFFEE!

The Exchange

See ya later.

Scarab Sages

Mmmmm.....coffee

Scarab Sages

Later dude.

Scarab Sages

Best thing about getting to work this early - so little traffic.

Scarab Sages

Second best thing - get to leave early.

Scarab Sages

Poor Charlie got bit by a bug near his eye (mosquito maybe) and now his eye is all swollen. Gave him so children's Benadryl yesterday, as per the pediatrician's office, but the wife tells me this morning that it doesn't look much better (and maybe a bit worse). So she's gonna call the doctor's office and see about an appointment.

Scarab Sages

Did you ever get the feeling you were being watched?

Scarab Sages

That the eyes of strange things were upon you?

Scarab Sages

Heard two possible cast members for a potential Neuromancer movie - Mark Wahlberg and Liam Neeson. Could be cool.

Just listened to some old Podcastle episodes. Damn I want to read something set in Qadira or Katapesh written by Saladin Ahmed.

Aberzombie's Really Grim Fairy Tales

The Princess in the Tower

Once upon a time, there was a brave and noble knight who learned of a princess locked away in a tower. The tower was in a far distant land, past all manner of inhospitable environments and deadly guardians.

So, the knight journeyed. He climbed over the Nightmare Mountains. He fought his way through the Forest of Deadly Shadows. He found the hidden road through the Swamp of Ineffable Horror. At last, in the middle of a barren plain, he came to the tower.

A terrible beast guarded the tower's entrance. The knight fought the beast for a day and a night, eventually defeating and slaying it.

Finally, the brave knight entered the tower, climbed the great stair, and entered the room of the princess. She stood before him, pale and dressed in satin, a vision of beauty amidst desolation.

"Welcome, my champion." said the princess, throwing her arms wide. "Come! Embrace me and claim my kiss."

The knight took her in his arms, and as she kissed him, he felt a sharp pain in his lip. Pulling back, he looked on in newly awakening terror at the fangs in her mouth.

"Unfortunately for you," She intoned, "there was a reason I was locked away here. the king couldn't let anyone know his only daughter had become a vampire."

Then she ate him.

The end.

Scarab Sages

And, with that, I shall go do something else.

Well today already seems better than yesterday. :)

And may all our tomorrows be better still.

UK gold in rowing (I thought that was a Middle Eastern/Balkan specialty ;) ). Congrats to those concerned.

Yay, womens pairs?

Then there's mens & womens cycling time-trials today, soon.

Got rained out today, can't do termite jobs in a thunder storm.

Kind of a troublesome week from the news we've gotten...

Spoiler:
Yesterday a couple we've been hanging out with have reached a volatile point, they're talking possible divorce. I know sometimes that's for the best, but I hate hearing that things have reached that point.

Earlier in the week I went to treat one of the hotel accounts we have and got some bad news. There's this Russian girl that works the desk and she's always been very cheerful and friendly, she lives at the hotel as well. Last Wednesday night, around 1am, she had a knock on the door. She didn't look to see who it was before opening it and a guy forced his way into the room demanding money. When he was told she didn't have any he took a knife to her face, 86 stitches to put her back together. I'd love to get my hands on that sonofab@+%! with my WW2 bayonet.

What? That's not the end! He killed everything between her and the innocent populace! She should have at least mocked him with all the needless death he'd just opened the way for before she killed him. Hmph. Waaay to nice for a vampire.

My daughter and oldest son both swell up a lot from mosquito bites. No fun.

You get to keep the movie rights to and profit from any movies made about your vigilante act even if convicted? I'd be okay with that...
