I was thinking about this and the gunslinger STILL needs something, Monks require WIS for their KI (similar mechanic to grit) but because they are basically required to have WIS for no other reason than KI, they get the added bonus to AC from their wis bonus for their trouble, but they cant wear armor.
So... I was thinking what if you limited the gunslinger to light armors (which makes more sense) and give them a wis bonus to AC (which would help them out also on the money end of things because they are going to be spending more moolah on guns than the average character spends on weapons and thus wont have it left over for armor)
This makes thematic sense to me, because as a gunslinger, you are always going to be thinking about positioning , and a better shot angle and not leaving yourself open, someone who wants play a conquistador could always take med armor as a feat if he has to have that breast plate.
IF this is too much (sticks tounge out at monk who doesnt get armor at all) maybe adding the wis to damage as well as dex?
either way, by being required to have a good wis, the gunslinger needs to get something out of it more than a few grit points.

They should get more of the wisdom based class skills. Perception and Sense Motive are both appropriate.
In general, they would be attractive if they had more class skills, and skill points. Rangers get 6 skill points and loads of great class skills, why not give gunslingers perception, sense motive, and disable device and slight of hand as class skills, and 4 skill points/level?

why would gunslingers get disable device? because guns are mechanical?
I could see that maybe, reduce 'quick clear' to an ability at say 3rd level that basically let you take 10 and as a free action use disable device at an X DC to clear your misfire... making clearing your weapon a disable device skill check, and then, if you fail the roll, by re necessary DC, firing the pistol a gain would result in a kaboom... I could see that, I would like that, and as a defualt the gunslinger could be another class (like alchemist) with disable device, so you dont always need a rogue in the party.
