I had one of my players run a pre-built 8th level Gunslinger for a PFS Slot Zero for an upcoming convention. I was in a hurry to build this so the wealth rules may not be followed exactly.

Rebel's Ransom:
This isn't a combat heavy scenario but from what I saw as a GM, it is very easy for the Gunslinger to hit the enemies found in this scenario. Like many other classes, being grappled can negate the actions of this ranged fighter, although a high Dex can assist with an Escape Artist check (however she didn't succeed on any). The damage wasn't extremely high, but was very consistent. The combat at the beginning was short enough that re-loading didn't become a hassle (and combined with a grapple, she didn't use too much ammo that encounter).

The rest of the scenario is mainly investigative in nature which highlighted the lack of rules for black powder with water (I assume a firearm cannot work underwater) and fire (magical fire, non-magical fire, if a Gunslinger catches fire). I imagine these rules will be covered more in-depth in the hardcover, but I made a note of it as I didn't want to make a character explode or something because they were hit with a fireball or flamestrike.

The re-load rules did come up in the last encounter which delayed the low damage a round, as the PC spent a round reloading one pistol and moving through a wall of fire. I haven't seen this character play a lot, but with the low damage of the firearms, I don't know how uber-powerful it would be to reduce the time it takes to reload. I'm more in favor of increasing the damage, as I really like the flavor of the current reload rules (it SHOULD take a while to do this).

All-in-all, I think the Gunslinger is a reliable damage dealer at low levels. She was comparable to the 9th level Monk that was flurrying a lot (only getting one or two of the flurry attacks to hit).
