Is it possible to use a complete set of full plate with a headband? Or would the helmet prevent the magic of the headband from working?

Yes, you can use a headband with full plate. Full plate, like any other armor, only takes up your armor/robes slot.

Ok, thanks. Just wanted to be sure.

Some specific helmets would conflict (Helm of Brilliance, for example) but that's an exception and has nothing to do with armor.

As it stands in the RAW, the armors listed in the book dont say if they come with a helmet or not, or if not having one would effect your AC in any way.

You could wear a non magical helm over the top of your magic headband, or even wear the helm from a suit of magic armor over your headband, both without issue. It's not the helm conveying the magic bonus, therefor does not conflict with any other item you might choose to wear on your head.

Non magical gear, especially helmets, are mostly just a matter of flavor.

I don't think there is a conflict for these items. There is both a head slot (for the Helm) and a headband slot (for the Headband). Actually just noticed this at my last gaming session while looking up slot rules for something else- had always assumed what you said.)

One of my players actually just brought this up earlier today, (or yesterday). I really don't see how there can be different slots for headbands and helmets. I guess because the mental attribute items are all headbands now and the devs didn't want to deny players a slot. Although the same could be said about belts, so why isn't there an extra hip slot?

Why don't you try it out - go and buy some form of headband - usually found with hair accessories as they are usually a decorative way of keeping the hair off the face, put it on and see if you can wear a hat on top.

Or you could take my word for it that in most cases the answer will be that you can.

I am looking at the core book right now and it lists armour in it's own slot. Robes and Vestments do not conflict? Linkage

If I remember correctly, there's actually three slots for your face (Headband, helm, and Face (Ie: goggles)), and yet absolutely none for pants.

I'd love to have some Pants slots, cause the way I'm picturing it right now is Burka-esque, without pants. the face is almost completely covered (as is the rest of the body. lots o' magic slots), and yet, still, without pants, like no one cares about decency O.o

I can also wear a vest over my shirt, a cape over my cloak, slippers inside my boots, 7 amulets and probably about 20 rings, but I can't benefit from all that magic because of slot limitations. So why is headband and helmet different slots, but a mantle, which is designed to be worn over your clothes, and a shirt the same slot?

My group's home solution is that any character can benefit from the effects of 10 magic items at once. More than that causes "aura interference".

If all you want to wear is ten rings, I say go for it.

Then you can play the Mandarin! :)

I was just about to say that.
