After a two-month hiatus, my Kingmaker campaign is back on! We are getting close to completing Stolen Lands, but to give the PCs the XP they need to reach 4th-level before assaulting the Stag Lord I designed a short dungeon crawl. You can visit my blog to see Dwarven Forge pictures of the whole complex or read about the party's crazy exploits.
Hit the Kingmaker tag to view previous session reports and enjoy!

I'm pretty sure that my players are cheating! After reviewing the photographic evidence I'm virtually certain...

And now the tenth session report is live. No bazookas in sight!

Raging Swan |

I was actually intrigued! I'm not aware of any British army units receiving bazookas. I thought it was straight from the BOYS ATR to the PIAT and was wondering if that was a conversion or if someone actually produced the miniature. Also did you cast up all the terrain yourself?
The terrain is by Dwarven Forge. They create truly awesome dungeon terrain. You should check out their website to see more layouts and such like.

After a two-week hiatus for convention attendance and illness, my Kingmaker campaign is back! You can read the latest installment here and learn all about the party's attempts to reach the Stag Lord's fort!

we have had a 4 month break (while i had a GM break and we started Serpents Skull), but session 27 resumes in 2 weeks time....very much looking forward to it

In this week's session, the PCs defeat the hated Stag Lord and win for themselves a kingdom...

Raging Swan |

I just wanted to chime in and cheer you on. I'm really enjoying the recaps of your sessions.
Thanks very much, we are all enjoying the campaign. I also find the blogs very useful in gathering my thoughts for upcoming sessions. I find it helps me keep focused on the campaign and not forget all the minutia of NPC names, minor quests started and so on.
I'm really looking forward to seeing how they cope with building and running a kingdom!

The next installment of Kingmaker is now up on my blog. It was most definitely a session of highs and lows. I've never had a TKK (Total Kingdom Kill) before. Did this happen to anyone else?

Wow! Did they just grow too fast? That had to have been some brutal rolls.

I did roll a "Plague" during my kingdom's first winter, but having expanded slowly and carefully, my PCs' kingdom was able to nip it in the bud. Since then, the kingdom's stats have been consistently above the DC determined by kingdom size.

You started those Troll rumours off a bit early - my reading of the module was that there would be a year or so at least of down time before those troll rumours started causing unrest. So as not to push the PCs into action too quickly (and take the time to build the kingdom up).

They had some really bad luck which all seemd to come at the same time. Everything was going along fine until the rumours of trolls hit, That wasn't too bad, but failing to control the plague cost them dearly (that combined with very high rolls to see how it influenced their treasury and unrest). It was a bit of a perfect storm. Luckily, Ratik is giving them one more try!

This week's Kingmaker session is now up. We've started Rivers Run Red and the PCs have started their explorations of the southern wilderness. Read all about it here!

We'll clearly she is holding you back and it's time to throw that goose overboard or onboard!
On the other hand, you have to give up gaming due to this... just send all your terrain and minis and gaming stuff this way. ;-)

Curses. I hadn't foreseen that...

We've had another session of our ongoing Kingmaker campaign, which didn't go well for the party. The session (and the previous one) also featured our first 49-round combat and a death among our intrepid heroes! Check out all the crazy events here!

In this week's session the party heads to the east to see what lies out on the plains and are attacked by a succession of dangerous, flying opponents. Check out all session here!

Just want to say that I've been following along and have been really entertained by the exploits of your characters. My own Kingmaker campaign is just entering it's third session so it's also fun to read about how your players dealt with various threats so I can see one option my own players might take.

Thanks! I'm glad you enjoyed them. We've had fun playing Kingmaker, but with the rather unfortunate TPK (out of the five characters, two of them rolled 1s on their saving throws) we decided to start something new. We'll probably start with Master of the Fallen Fortress before moving on to The Godsmouth Heresy. If you've got any suggestions for after that, I'd be keen to hear them!

Darn, too bad y'all are starting a new campaign, otherwise I can see the new characters as adventurers hired by the fledgling kingdom (heck one of them being a rising star in the power structure) to see whatever happened to the previous rulers... it'd be fun to see what the new characters would do with the previous character's bodies... proper burial? or just dump 'em, etc. :-)

Sorry to hear that, though I've read your last post and after a TPK and the kingdom having already failed once I can understand wanting to start something new. I'm going to have to keep an eye on my party's will saves when they get into the second book, since they've already been having pretty terrible luck with the dice.
