Thanks Vic, been really busy with school and haven't been able to keep up with what's going on the site or products.

Jade Regent. Kicks off in Sandpoint and is a road movie that takes you across the Crown of the World into Tian Xia. Also, ninjas.

Very nice, I like ninja. Thank you. Big new book coming out with this one?

Considering that the name of the new Campaign Setting book (World Guide: Inner Sea) implies that there will be World Guides for other parts of Golarion, we can safely bet for a major book on Tian Xia. Perhaps it will be announced soon when Paizo does their traditional February announcements round.

![]() |

There were no official announcements yet, but James did confirm in a few instances that Jade Regent kicks off in Sandpoint, takes you on a journey over the northern reaches of Golarion, and into Tian Xia. Ameiko Kaijitsu is rumoured to play a pivotal role. Masses of unwashed fans are lighting candles in hope for return of another famous NPC, Shalelu "Yes, I am that tough" Andosana ...

Woah, Shalelu and Ameiko will feel like old friends when the campaign gets on the road.
Though I could not hit anything with her(5th level ranger/fighter) in that one scenario she became part of the party for a while, I think she is one of those NPCs anyone will remember from playing Runelords/Second Darkness.
And now I get to do something my character should have done from the start. Be a roguish rogue and hit on Ameiko.

Vic,
For those us horrible at math, does that mean it will be out next week or the week after that?
Put bluntly? I'd say it's abundantly clear that Paizo is reticent to announce a date when it will be released. Seing as this is in respect of a web-only product which will be made available exclusively as a downloadable .pdf only, this points to one thing:
The Carrion Crown Player's Guide is not done and finalized yet.
Until it is done, the chance of getting a firm release date is poor, as if they then miss that date, they will have "lied" and "mislead their customers", "broken their promise" or done all manner of unpleasant things which Paizo generally goes out of its way to NEVER do.
That's a tough bit of luck which cautions against making those sorts of predicitons. In cases like this, the only winning move is not to play.

Kinda harsh Steel. It kinda makes sense for them not to put as much time and effort for a FREE pdf when I'm sure they are pretty busy with other 'paying' deadlines. Hence you can argue that all the Player's Guide are pure cost and is made for customer service only.

On the contrary, just because it is free, it doesn't mean that we shouldn't put our best efforts forward. For some players, this is all they see of the Adventure Path - shouldn't we do our utmost to produce it with the same standards of quality that we do for everything else?

![]() |

It wasn't meant to be harsh, nor do I suggest Paizo is "slacking".
That something isn't yet done and finalized does not suggest they don't care about it; it simply means that it isn't yet complete. It's a web download only. That gives them more leeway in terms of a "drop-dead" date. At this time of year? They probably can use the leeway. We are in the midst of their crazy season where all the work on "for Gencon release" products is getting done right now.
What they also care about is not promising something by a certain date and then not meeting that promise for a variety of reasons. The best way to avoid that possibility is not be goaded into promising it by a certain specific date in the first place.

The Player's Guide is indeed done. It's been done for a while.
It's also not going to be released until we can do so as part of the first Carrion Crown's release. that's how we've done EVERY Player's Guide.
And since the actual release date for any print product depends on the day we get said product into our warehouse, and since that exact day is subject to a mind-numbing number of variables ranging from travel time from China, print time IN China, time spent in customs, time spent in traffic, time spent unloading, and so on and so on... we can't nail down those dates with the degree of accuracy that a public release date deserves.
Once the product is in our warehouse, only THEN can we set actual for-real hard release dates. Until then, the best we can do is give a basic guess as to the week or month.
We know folks are anticipating this. Folks anticipate ALL of the Player's Guides. And once we know more about its release date, we'll tell you. We aren't telling you now because we don't know for sure.

travel time from China
First time I read that, I read it as "time travel from china." I was kind of boggled as to why it would need to time travel from china since it exists in our time. Unless Paizo is printing in the future and having it shipped back to us because only in the future they have figured out how to make the ink just so full of the good-page-licking crack that is in every single Pathfinder issue.
Then I read it again and realized I misread it.

Well, Steel Wind, it seems you were half right. :)
Personally, I appreciate the tentative release dates, since it keeps me from having to face the soul-crushing disappointment of a late product. But to hear that the Players Guide is finished and simply collecting digital dust...
*slides tray of cookies towards James Jacobs*
Well that's just a shame, isn't it?

Actually the Jade Regent AP is the one time traveling from ancient China. They're going for SERIOUS authenticity!

And you know, it shows. The Player's Guide is what got me interested in Paizo in the first place, which ultimately led me to becoming a Subscriber even though I don't have time to run the APs. I believe in rewarding quality work when I have the means to do so and the Player's Guide is a great introduction to the APs.

Okay, now name something else.

Adventurer's Armory. :P

HalfOrcHeavyMetal |

Adventurer's Armory. :P
Memory of Darkness (grinds teeth)
.........Dammit.......
Although to be fair, Guns from the Old Pathfinder Chronicles Campaign Setting were actually worth a damn (Why the HELL did we change Pistols to one shot only? For Flumph's Sake, that's like signing up to fight a Pit Fiend with a +5 Mithril Spork.) and I can't understand why Paizo felt the need to turn a perfectly good set of weapons into, well, over-priced Gimp Fodder.
Adventurer's Armory was useful. Not mind-blowingly good like most of Paizo's stuff, but it was still useful. A bit. Every even-numbered blue moon.
Memory of Darkness ..... I got nothing.

![]() |

A Memory of Darkness isn't all bad. It has useful articles on both Kyonin and Calistria, plus it has Treerazer :)
In fact, I have yet to see a single piece of world fluff or monsters that I didn't like from Paizo.
Yeah, the support articles are of the usual outstanding quality. Heck, I even read the fiction in order to make me feel better about the purchase, and it worked.
But the adventure? No no no no no...

It is said it was railroady in the extreme, and had the players cooperate with evil NPCs. I didn´t read it, so I don´t really know. More may be
