Alchemical Silvering Process

Rules Questions

I had a discussion with our new GM on alchemical silver and bludgeoning weapons like a mace but more importantly brassknuckles. His argument is this statement in the rules. On a successful attack with a silvered slashing or piercing weapon, the wielder takes a -1 penalty on the damage roll. It didn't say anywhere a bludgeoning weapon can't be silvered. That statement to me says piercing and slashing weapons take -1 damage. Possibly to represent the silvering process keeps the weapon somewhat dulled by the process.--opinions?

I think you have it right silver is hard to get a good edge on and keeping one is far harder whereas if i hit you with 5 lbs of stone, 5 lbs of steel or 5 lbs of silver you still got hit by something harder than you that is 5lbs
