Pathfinder First Edition General Discussion

Since reading through a number of these threads, I decided to post my Eidolon. Just to make sure what I have is legal.
I have 2 that I am toying with(game doesn't start until Wednesday)
Level 7

Skilled(stealth)
Ability Increase(str)
Ability Increase(dex)

Or

I think a web spitting serpent would be fun.

Build 1:

Bite (1) + Skilled (1) + 2 x Ability Increase (2) + Energy Attack (2) + Web (3) = 11.

1 point above the amount you receive at 7th level. Forgo Bite, and stick with 1x modifier strengh on damage and you are fine.

Build 2 is OK.

Sovereign Court

You just posted your base form and evolutions, not feats, stats, magic items, saves, ac, hp, etc so I can't tell if it is legal.

Oh. That was a change on the fly. Thanks for pointing it out.

If I stick with Web I think I'll go

Bite(1)
Improved Damage(1)
Magic Attacks(1)
Ability Increase(2)
Energy Attack(2)
Web(3)

Because I thought the confusion was coming from the evolutions, not adding the numbers up. However see if I do something wrong

I cannot address wether your build is legal (although at a glance it seems fine) Generally speaking all of the 'eidolons are broken' posts seem to happen witht he combination of two things.

1) the Eidolon is large (Every post i can think of involved level 8 when this arrives)

2) the Eidolon is designed to maximize # attacks using natural weapons and manufactured weapons.

3) getting the Evolutions wrong

Often the combination of all three leaves a creature with more limbs than it should making alot of extra attacks and the people building them geting the math wrong. Given your example characters are lvl 7 and dont use manufactured weapons you so far have avoided all the problems.

For the record i like the idea of a web spitting snake of your two ideas above.

What you for sure are doing wrong is your energy attacks go to one specific attack type. Not all of them. You would need to spend evo points on every different type.

Pretty sure all his NA become infused. From the PFSRD

Energy Attacks (Su)

An eidolon’s attacks become charged with energy. Pick one energy type: acid, cold, electricity, or fire. All of the eidolon’s natural attacks deal 1d6 points of energy damage of the chosen type on a successful hit. The summoner must be at least 5th level before selecting this evolution.

I can doublecheck my book later

Your numbers all look like they add up except for the bite damage on Yuanty. Since you only have Improved damage on the claws the bite should be:
[bite]+10(d6+6)+d6

Yep your right, that's what I get for copy-pasting

Doesn't bite come free with a serpentine Eidolon?

Yeah I checked, it's free and it even has reach to it.

Youbcan buy bite a second time which makes itbstrength and a half I believe.

I suspected that was what happened.

You did a good job on these builds. It's important to fully read all the evolutions and not just skim them. The details and interactions can get complex.

I'd also like to go on record as saying that I also like Webby better as a matter of personal preference.

Yeah, I'm liking 'Webby' as well, I really don't want to make a whirling death machine that Yuanty can become. We already have a barbarian in the party that does that.

Dark Archive

11 points is very possible if you are 1/2 elf.
