New Weapon wanted.

Homebrew and House Rules

Hey, i wanted to make a monk sometime in the near future and i wanted to basically be Betty from Kung pow.

Is there any weapon that are like the iron claws?

If not what stats would it have?

yeah, it needs to be a monk weapon.

i forget what the claws looked like, but when in doubt:

simple non-game breaking stats: same as kama
uber monk weapon of awesome: d8, crit 19-20 X 2

Yeah that would work.

Its two iron claws attached via a chain, it would probably have reach though.

Iron Chain

I'd say ask your GM if you can use spiked chain as a monk weapon? Or maybe a scorpion whip (Adventurer's armory)?

I'm a huge fan of re-purposing old weapons instead of making new ones, so that's my suggestion.

Also, love that you're going for Betty. "Your shirt is red!"

I believe that the weapon is a Kasrigama(sp?). You can find it in the D&D 3.0 book Oriental Adventures. Though I'm not sure if you will need to tweek it or not, but I would ask your GM first.

Betty: "I'm swinging a chain, I'm swinging a chan."

Hahaha, yeah that is what I was thinking of. Sorry my spelling sucks.

Liberty's Edge

The spiked chain maybe the best way to go just becaus it would be the simpelist mechanic.
SWING THAT CHAIN!!!

I've been thinking a bit more about it, and I would have to agree. The spiked chain would be a lot easier and better to use. His GM probably wouldn't have a problem with it. In the Eberron setting bok there is a feat a you can take to use the spiked chain as a monk weapon, but I think it calls for a lot of other feats.

*Edit*: One of the games I was in the GM let me multiclass my samurai with a monk. He agreed to it because I wanted to make a character like Samurai Jack.
