So, I've been brewing up a monk for a friend's game, with a very solid concept. I thought I'd go try out Weapon Adept from the APG, to focus on a martial arts style involving, weapons (surprise!), namely katar.
To my misfortune, I found that I cannot use punching daggers in any form as a monk weapon. I personally don't think it's a big deal to allow it to be, but I could be wrong.
Is there anything within Pathfinder that can fix this, without a house rule?

I recommend sprinkling on some Garlic and a squeeze of lemon...
I mean er.. This is a borderline house rule, but its not terribly difficult to reskin an existing Monk weapon as the one you want, like the sai for example, nothing says the handle has to be oriented in the traditional sword/ knife manner. Another option is dependent on if you allow the expanded 3.5 universe of books. There are several feats out there that allow for other weapons to fall into the monks list...the two bladed sword comes to mind. So since the president is established changing the feat to a different weapon while technically being a house rule is really just a modification since most of the mechanics are already in place.

Something like this. Say Sai is slashing and is called Katar. Done.
