I saw the upcomeing release and was really looking forward to it until I saw they had left out a major founding member.
Wonder Girl should have been in the starting line up but just like in the teen titans got cut.
Any body here know why?
Why did the animators that think the comics are great wanna change the entire make up of what made it great to begin with?
Are they afraid of the superboy/ wonder girl romance or is it the fact that they don't want a woman that can throw a truck around to give superboy any competion.
The Ms. Martian charecter didn't come along until way later in the series and the atremis/arowette charecter was second string at best. Cassie/wonder girl was the heart of the team, a reluctant leader but a very unique charecter. I suppose robin or superboy will end up being the team leader just cause.
I suppose this may sound like a rather feminist rant but I'm tired of the wonder line of charecters being ignored in film and TV. How many superman/batman and other super hero movies are out? No wonder woman project in the works. In the teen titans they had evey other charecter from the comic in the line up, but no wonder girl/troia. I guess cyborg needed to have the powerhouse role very securly in his hands rather than share. Maybe thats why the young justice cartoon creators did the same thing supers simply couldn't handle the competition to his biceps.
OK done ranting.

That's strange..I thought she was in it. It could be that the incarnation of Young Justice they're modeling the show after was when she wasn't with the team and Ms. Martian and Arrowette were(second string at best? That's unfair. You KNOW DC's problem with their archers, give one who ISN'T a serial womanizer or addicted to smack a chance). It could also be that the people who are doing care of the show don't have the rights to the character.

According to Greg Weisman, there was some issues with using Wonder Girl. Mostly it was that another production company is working on a Wonder Woman project and had gotten the rights to Wonder Girl as part of that project. However, the rights to Wonder Girl have been freed up and she will not be a main character but will be a recurring character.

Thank you. I feel at least somewhat better knowing that at least she will be in there somewhere.

ok I can see that but hey from what I understand now the smack addict just got both his arms chopped off so looks like he's either gonna go bionic or hang up his bow for good.
As far as the serial womanizer bit that was just a charecter quirk. I can see from someone elses point of veiw that it can be annoying, especilly to the ladies, but I never liked the charecter because of his political views not the fact he's a poster boy for the local free clinic.
As far as super heroes go I have just never been a fan of any archer type, I mean the power level just sin't there when you need it. I will freely admit it's a personal bias but eventually your gonna run out of trick arrows.

Heh...free clinic..heh.
I could actually see you as a minor Green Arrow villain. How do you feel about tights?
In terms of archers, I like them when they're like "Hawkeye" was before he "bought it" in the fairly recent comic. Sometimes you have to SERIOUSLY mess someone up with a real arrow to show you aren't messing around. Alternatively, I like the Ultimates version of Hawkeye(Get clear. This arrow has a low-yield nuke for an arrowhead.) Although, some of the trick arrows are interesting, to me, an archer is at his deadliest when he actually shows you just how accurate he is.

I could do tights, hell I could do tight real well as a matter of fact. The trouble is unlike most villians I wouldn't monolouge nor would I waste time on unimportant matters, thus the "hero" would die. But since it's only green arrow I'm thinkin no major loss.
I am not sure if I could fight speedy/red arrow/whatever his name is now. I would be too busy cracking up makeing jokes about him no longer being able to wipe his own butt or "other" things that need your hands for.
The "hey buddy need a hand" jokes would be non-stop. The theres the classic"hey look at the bright side, nobody can call you jerk-off anymore cause well..you know"yes I could see me as a very good villian.

As far as I know (meaning this is what I have heard, no hard evidence) the rights for any character from the Wonder Woman comics is insanely convoluted. It is difficult to use them without making them the sole primary character of the show. I'm not sure exactly how they managed to get Justice League off the ground and have her in it to be honest. But then, the rights are different for live action on television or movies, and different again for animation.
Hopefully the creation of DCE can start collecting the rights back to this stuff so they aren't constantly being left out based on stuff you need a team of lawyers to figure out.
