Two-Weapon and Str bonus

I know this is a basic and dumb question; but looking at Attack bonus - says to apply Base Attack Bonus and Strength modifier to hit.

Why wouldn't someone using two hands get the 1 1/2 str bonus to hit as well as damage?

same reason off hand weapons dont get 1/2 str to hit. 2 handed only adds the 1 1/2 to damage, not to hit

I know it doesn't...but just curiosu 'why not'? whats the reason an extra hand on your weapon wouldn't help you control it to hit something, especially when it specifically states it uses your strength bonus and two hands gives 1 1/2 bonus.

Mainly because that's not how it works in real life, I would suppose. Two-handing a weapon gives you power. What control you get is necessary to control the large swings you make with a large weapon. Adding an extra hand to a weapon that you properly control with a single hand isn't all that helpful, and can even limit what weapon maneuvers you can make.

its not adding more control if you need the second hand to actually use the weapon. think of it more as both hands to not take a -4 to hit.

Ahhh, that sounds nice, I like that explaination. I concur doctor. thanks
