LFP for a PBP - Open Recruiting

Gamer Connection

Lantern Lodge

I'm looking to start up a play-by-post if anyone is interested. I've DMed quite a few times for PBPs but only one of them actually played out all the way through. The others died as seems to be the horrid fate of most PBPs. Anyways, I have a few adventure paths we could run or I have a homebrew setting we could run (postapocalyptic though that is more for flavor - none of the actual mechanics change). After we get a group together, we'll work out the fine points (ability score system, setting, etc.). If anyone is interested, just let me know.

Edit: Sorry. Thanks to Dragonborn, I realized that at least some of the rules are needed. We would be using the core books as well as the Advanced Players Guide. Aasimar, Tieflings, and a converted-from-3.5 Changeling (all of them with changes from Jlighter - J, seriously, I like the changes, so they say imitation is the best form of flattery). Any other sources will have to be run by me before being approved, but don't let that discourage you from asking. I'm fairly laidback.

Shadow Lodge

Interested. Perhaps a Monk of the Empty Hand or a Zen Archer Monk if the Advanced Player's Guide is available.

More information will be needed about building the characters of course.

I'd love to finally get around to making a wizard - just one of those characters I never think to play. Some sort of universalist, maybe heading towards Loremaster or PF Chronicler in his dotage.

Lantern Lodge

Not a problem on both of your parts. I'm compiling a list of the people here who are interested. You two are first on it. I'm looking for a group of five or six total. Don't want to try to take on more than that lest it get confusing. If there so happens to be more people interested (and I'm sure there will be) then I may run two campaigns of five or six apiece. No more than that though. That's just asking for DM burnout.

Interested! The Kingmaker path has fascinated me since I found out about it, though I've never actually played it. In fact, I've never actually played any of them, so I'm open to most stuff. My characters usually lean towards casters. If we have a wizard in the group, I'd like to try an Oracle.

I have a fire elemental wizard I'd love to try and my fiancé would like to play an oracle or a bard. I can also play a fighter or rogue if need be, but I'd really like to try my friendly neighborhood pyro.

Shadow Lodge

Well, I'm already in a Kingmaker pbp, but I never got very far in Legacy of Fire(I was introduced to the party. That's as far as I got before the game died).

APs I'd like to play in: Council of Thieves, Curse of the Crimson Throne, and Legacy of Fire.

Talahel Zstelian is a half elf ranger whom I created for another PBP that was dead before it started. Ironically, havoc xiii and his fiance were also suppose to be in that PBP.

Spoiler:

HISTORY
Talahel was the only child of an elven father and Varisian mother. He was born and raised in Korvosa, mostly by his mother. His father was absent for most of his childhood.
Talahel spent most of his time growing up on the streets of Old Korvosa. Being elf and Varisian meant that he was often the target of vicious bullying by the predominantly Chelish youth around him. He made some patchwork armor to protect himself.
Talahel's life changed to its current course when he was befriended by an elderly elven ranger. (His grandfather?) The ranger taught him the ways of a ranger applied to an urban setting. He also introduced the young half-elf to the god, Ketephys. Talahel has put his superior aptitude in tracking toward a career as a bounty hunter.

PERSONALITY
Talahel is initially distrustful of new acquaintances. Others perceive him as cold and aloof. Those who know him well, however, find that he cares very deeply about his friends and his loyalty is unbreakable, unless betrayed. He will always protect the downtrodden and he is not afraid to break some rules to do it.

With little to lose, Talahel is cool and calm against even the most formidable opponent.

He was made before the APG came out so I may tweak him to be an urban ranger.

AP's or home brew are fine with me. I am currently gm'ing Rise of the Runelords and Kingmaker, and I am playing a second darkness PBP. I can post at least once per day, usually twice (morning and night) and more on the weekend.

Yea and I really wanted to play my shadow assassin too.

I'd love to play, as well. Here are the AP's I'd love to play:

Council of Thieves, Kingmaker, and Legacy of Fire.

The characters I have in mind are:

Council of Thieves -- Chelaxian (human) ranger
Kingmaker -- human fighter (mobile from the APG), swordsman (from one of the Restov dueling schools)
Legacy of Fire -- Open (though either an ethnic Garundi rogue or ranger sound appealing).

Lantern Lodge

Well, it definitely looks like we have six people here, so we'll throw a group together with that. I'll leave the thread open for any others that show up because alternates are always good to have and, you never know, if there are enough alternates, they may just become primaries in a second game.

The players I have are as follows:
Dragon
Jello
Alexi
Havoc
Havoc's Fiance
Tordek

Anyone else arriving will be put on a waiting list and, like I said, if the list gets big enough I'll consider a second campaign.

As for you six, here is a list of the paths I have:
Rise of the Runelords
Curse of the Crimson Throne
Second Darkness
Legacy of Fire
Council of Thieves
Kingmaker

Edit: Removed my homebrew because now that I'm looking for it, I found only half of my stuff.

Thanks for letting me play.

Here are my votes for what we play, but I am open to anything:

Spoiler:

Rank from most interested to least (at this time)
1) Curse of the Crimson Throne
2) Homebrew - Shadows of Aris
3) Legacy of Fire
4) Council of Thieves

I prefer to stay away from Rise of the Runelords and Kingmaker since I have GM'ed the first book of each of those, and Second Darkness which I am playing now.

I AM capable of NOT metagaming if we decide to go with the games I am gm'ing.

I'm fine with any AP since I haven't played any of them yet.

Shadow Lodge

I'm starting to lean toward Council now, since I faintly remember some kind of concept I had...

I'm open for anything really, but like Tordek, I'd prefer some other than Rise or Kingmaker.

RPG Superstar 2014 Top 16, RPG Superstar 2012 Top 16

I'm interested. Never done PBP, but I've been role-playing since, er, third grade? (OK, that was probably more roll than role, but whatever.)

Willing to play almost any class that's needed. No preference on Adventure Path, as I've not done any of them.

Wait list please. Kingmaker would be my vote.

If you decide to go with RotRL, I would love to join in. I've got a couple character ideas, including rogues and clerics, that I think would fit in well when I look at the Players Guide.

Severed Ronin, as the one offering to run the game, you may want to consider the AP that is most appealing to you... I'm pretty certain you won't have any problem loading up with quality players around here. :)

If you decide to do Legacy of Fire, I would love to play/be put on the wait list. I have an inquisitor of Sarenrae that I've been dying to play.

Seeing as how most people don't mind which system we do, we'll go ahead and do Legacy of Fire. If there any objections to this, then feel free to step out of the group and allow one of the players on the waiting list a chance to play. So far the group of players I have consists of: Jello, Dragon, Havoc, Havoc's Fiance, Tordek, and Alexi.

Legacy of Fire is fine with me. As soon as you finalize the character creation guidelines, I will tweak Talahel to fit into the adventure path.

How would a fire elemental wizard do in legacy of fire?

Lantern Lodge

Alright I've set up the OOC thread. Those of you who are part of the campaign, feel free to make your way here for the thread. From there you'll be able to discuss the fine details from there. I've also included the character creation guidelines on the page.

Havoc, as for how a fire elemental wizard would do, I've been through the campaign and don't see how they would suffer any worse because of their chosen specialty. Katapesh is an extremely hot environment, so your abilities would fit right in with those of the native casters.

Wait list please. No particular preference for an AP.

Liberty's Edge

Wait list, please. No particular preference for AP. As an aside, I only have experience playing sandbox.

Sorry, Ash, this game is on hold pending finding someone else to DM. Don't suppose you're interested? :P

Wait list, please.
I have a Human Paladin of Sarenrae ( Nasir ibn Al'Said) I had played for a LoF campaign that went bust already statted up, but I can see you've already got one (and I would have to retweak him to fit). So I would be interested in either a Ranger (w gnoll as FE) or a desert Druid.
Thanks,
V

Vanulf, as I just told Ash, this game is on hold pending find a DM to run it. There is no game presently. :(

Depends. Is it pre-made or sandbox?

It's a pre - made Adventure Path: Legacy of Fire

Liberty's Edge

Oh. Well, if there's a DM who has the AP, I'd still like to join as a player :).

Will do - In the absence of a GM, I am helping to coordinate the search so I will keep my eyes on this thread for potential replacements. If you want to keep up to date, here is the new GM search thread and the discussion thread

I would like to be put on the wait list
