My friends and I are going to be playing a self generating dungeon via the tools found in the board game dungeon quest. Part of the rules is that if your character dies and is not rezed after an hour the dungeon eats you then you become the next GM while the old GM becomes a player. This of course means characters are going to die a lot.
One of the characters I want to make is an Alchemist and I have always been a little upset that the throwing range is only 20 feet. However, I am wondering is that throwing range a flat throwing distance or is it a range increment like with most weapons you throw or fire?

Its a range increment. so the max throwing distance is 100', but at a -8 penalty

Ahh OK, I can deal with that.

The -8 penalty is hell at lower levels, but gets better at higher levels since touch AC is either fairly static or actually start to go DOWN.
This also might help if your dm likes enemies flying way above you.
Far Shot (Combat)
You are more accurate at longer ranges.
Prerequisites: Point-Blank Shot.
Benefit: You only suffer a –1 penalty per full range increment between you and your target when using a ranged weapon.
Normal: You suffer a –2 penalty per full range increment between you and your target.

Or if you have access to adventurer's armory...
Splash Weapon Mastery
You are adept at increasing the range, area,
and accuracy of splash weapons.
Beneft: When throwing a splash
weapon, you act as if you had the
Far Shot feat. When you hit with
a splash weapon, select one
additional square adjacent to
the splash area; creatures in this
area also take splash damage.
When you miss with a splash weapon,
you may adjust the miss direction on
the grid by +1 or –1. This feat counts
as Far Shot for the purpose of qualifying
for other feats, but only in regard to splash
weapons.
