You going?
Whoops, February 12-15 was this year's convention. March 4-6 is the coming convention. No, I am not going. My friend Mike lives around there and he's pesting me to go, but it's not like it's Dragon*Con. I can't really see a reason to make the trip. Besides I have to save up time for Gamicon...

The smell of death. I should bottle that and sell it! And Thea, I've never killed any of your characters before! (Although I did introduce one to some pretty nasty high-level caster vs. caster tactics!)

am aware of the Yahoo group that BellyWumpus has organized
WelbyBumpus. But close enough.
Are you aware that LutherCon is running PS all day? It's scheduled for strictly low-level, as LutherCon gets total RPG newbies as walk-ins, but if I get a group interested in a higher-level event, I can arrange one of those, too.

Unless you are fluent in Danish I think it is best if you mail it to me ;)

Grrr, why is everyone scheduling their cons on the same weekend?

Hey I'm also in the Chicago area and Myself and a number of Home Game players organize a Bi Weekly Game Day of One(1) table as a private event.
I want to address what stayed my hand on submitting was solely the requirements expected of the VC. Besides Pathfinder I participate in support for other Campaigns ranging from 3.5-4, Pathfinder and a number of Boardgames. I have a full time job and a family as well.
To do VC work as listed would have me drop a number of the events and actually commit more time to Pathfinder alone that I do currently.
I participated in the Beta and will continue to encourage Pathfinder play. I too will support the Pathfinder Community in the Greater Chicago area (See you at LutherCon and . . . there's another con!!!) when I'm not otherwise committed. I share an online document that shows what folks in the area have played I've opened this up:
I have notifications and change control on this feel free to update.
I can do what I can do to help but with the time work and the family obligations when the weekend comes I prefer to play.
The four possible people I know have generally commented on the required commitment as being a barrier.

Just to add to the earlier comments about Canada not getting VC posts: I’m not surprised that we weren’t included in the first round of VC announcements. I have to search pretty hard to find any event notifications for Canada as a whole, never mind here in Edmonton, Alberta which is where I hang my hat.
The long and the short of it is, no one person or region is entitled to a VC position. It has to be earned by promoting the hobby, being visible and working so that players new and established can enjoy the Pathfinder experience. You may already have someone like that in your area and if so, make them feel appreciated.
We didn’t have anyone like that here, so recently a few other individuals and myself have started running monthly Gamedays here in Edmonton; the next one is up in Events now. Maybe, after we’ve worked at it a bit and a position comes open, we’ll think about getting an area VC. But for right now we are focused on delivering a fun, well-run Gameday and getting the word out so that players can find us and join in the fun.
To sum up: Do the work because you love doing it, and worry about the fancy-shmancy title later. ;)

Well said brother. Before we became VCs, we all had to show out dedication to the campaign. For now, if you need help or assistance, do not hesitate to contact myself or Neil (Mr Ontario)...
Build it, they come, someone gets a fancy title.
