Have there been any "official" suggestions?

Round 1: Magus

It's getting kind of hard for me to come home and wade through all of the threads looking to see if Jason (or other Paizo staff) have made any official changes to the class that we should be working with....
So thought I would just ask?....as well as supply a place where any future official changes can be linked in one place.

Nothing yet that I've seen. A few staff acknowledged flaws but no official changes.

I fully expect that Jason will sticky any official changes before the 0.2 pdf hits.

We have not yet made any official changes to the magus class. I believe that the plan is to present a refined version of it for further playtest sometime soon, though... I could be wrong. If and when we do, though, we'll make plenty of noise about it! :)

This first round of playtesting has given us a LOT to work with, though, which is great!

Sounds good James....

We are starting a long campaign arc in the next few weeks, and I think I'm going to do a Magus, although I certainly want to tweak the little problems a bit if possible.

I'll keep my eyes peeled ;)

OK....I'm trying REALLY hard to be patient....honest...I am.....

BUT

Are we getting any closer to seeing the Magus upgrades and corrections?

Yes... but I'm not going to say how much closer. I'm not trying to be a jerk or coy; we've got a LOT on our plates right now (we ALWAYS do, it seems), so I'm not sure when the next iteration of the magus will be available. Hopefully soon.

Then I will sit on my hands, and settle for that....

I appreciate how much additional work you all create for yourselves by including us in these things.
Many thanks.

I see the magi class as a basic utility class that has two dimensions. The first of those dimensions is a back up makeshift tank. The second is a limited scrappy wizard. The class structure as it stands now isn't bad. I mean it's a fair trade off to get both worlds of wizard/fighter but obtain those class features slowly and starts a little weak. The magi is a better option then mutilclassing fighter/wizard. The peak level in my opinion is level 12. At this point this class can get very potent. In fact I believe when the magi is built with the proper feats and right magus arcana this class exceeds the power scale to some degree. The reason I say this is because it's moderate possibility for the magi class at 12th level in one round cast three spells and have two attacks, three spells in one round. That is just nasty! I am very pleased at the creative nature of the class. My only real suggestion is to build in a few more options for magus arcana.

How do you get three spell in one round?

Spell storing weapon. No other way I can think of. Quickened and Spell Combat take care of two. Perhaps that poster is confused about how Spell Strike works?

Spell storing weapon makes sense.

Thanks,
Doug

Still no word on the V2 Magus I take it ???

Nope nothing yet.

I hope to see some revisions on the spell list IE vanish needs to be on the revised list

as well as dropping the level requirements for hasted assault, I want my swiftblade back!

I am also excited that the build might allow for a blade singer type of F/W!

I think they were overly cautious with the abilities and the levels needed to use them! I mean the witch at level 5 can feather fall at will, levitate and fly from a single hex!

I think the last thing Jason said was that Words of Power needs a few weeks on its own before he's forced to monitor both sets of boards for input. So at least another week or two.

At this rate....by the time it comes out, I'll be so settled into our "house-ruled" version, that it won't matter (grumble...mumble)...

There's always the off chance that v2 will be awesome beyond your imaginings and totally worth the wait...

LOL....ya I suppose so.

I guess I'm just being whiny and impatient.
