I've got a thread on the subject with every level up to level 10 for now.
EK gives you access to higher level spells, a +16 BAB, and the full Sor/Wiz list in exchange for worse saves, a painful/dull first 6 or 7 levels, and overall less non-spell options.
On the roleplaying side, you also have a bit more flexibility with the EK I think. You can have war wizards with some weapon training and weapon masters with some magic experience, while this class looks a bit more straightforward.
I see the Magus as good way to get into the EK Prestige Class. At 10 Magus/10 Ek you count as 15th level fighter for feats.
