Anyone have any ideas on working an "Alchemist Gun" into the mix? This would help make the character more playable in Organized play where the lose some of their abilities. Maybe use their skills to make powder or liquid for launching projectiles? I think it would flesh out the character a bit more. Make the gun a bound item like the bombs or mutagen and you remove the problems some folks have with a firearm in a fantasy world.

Looks around for thread in question...
Steam Kolben: Druid with Heat Metal can heat the pressure vessel full of water forcing the bullet to emerge from the Barrel.
That would make a Druid a 'Kolbeneer' with a steam powered Pistol, Rifle, or Artillerist with a Cannon at about third level Druid.
An Alchemist Firearm (one that doesnt use gunpowder) would likely mix explosive fuel with Air in a combustion chamber.
So your Alchemist Rifleman will have some container on his back with a Pump that mixes air and fuel into an aerosol chamber under pressure and sprays it in behind the bullet into the Ignition chamber. Then he pulls the trigger which strikes a spark into the weapon.

Might I direct your attention to this little bit of OGL goodness, by none other than Monte Cook himself.

I like your idea of a engineering piece. It jives well with the scientific nature of the Alchemist. Very steam punk. Also potentially solves the problem of matching gun
to bow with overpowering the bow. One should be able to take advantage of rapid reload, multishot, and such without without getting into too much debate over the being nerfed, overpowered, or out of context. Good stuff!
