Duelist question: can precise strike be used for more than one attack in a round

Rules Questions

I am wondering if a Duelist prestige class could take a full round action (2-4 attacks) and apply the precise dmg to all of the attacks. Also does sneak attack make it so one can only do a single attack in a round.

Yes, a duelist gets precise strike damage on every attack that qualifies for it (targets aren't immune to crits, duelist is using a single one-handed piercing weapon, etc.).

No, sneak attack does not limit you to one attack - again, a rogue (or whatever your source of SA damage) gets to apply sneak attack damage on every attack that qualifies for it (target is flatfooted or flanked, not immune to crits, etc.).

Dark Archive

^^what they said.

SA on all attacks is the reason so many rogues 2 weapon fight

in this same thread I would like to ask for a prestige class that required a attack +6 does on have to have it before taking it or can the first level be the +6. For example could one have a 5th lev fighter and a 1st level duelist. or does on have to have a 6th lev fighter and a 1st lev duelist

You have to have all the prereqs BEFORE taking the class.

Think of it this way: Taking the class is what grants you a BAB. You can't take that class if you only have a +5 BAB, because then you don't qualify. You don't get that extra BAB until after you take a level in the class.

I know this may be resurrecting this topic again, but can anyone answer me the following:

1) Does this "per successful attack" apply to animals?
2) Can animal companions even get Precise Strike?

I have a player (Druid) who has this on his small Cat companion and it appears to break the game a little.

Really, on every attack. I thought Ex were standard actions (and thus that it functions like vital strike)?

1) sure. If they get Precise Strike, it works just like for humans. Once for each attack.

As some animals get lots of attack soon in the game, this might indeed be a bit powerful.

2) However, I don't see how an animal companion can get Precise Strike. It's not a feat nor can animal companions take levels in a class.

P.S. Well, that's about the duellist class ability Precise Strike anyway. There appears to be a team work feat that adds 1d6 per when you flank an opponent.

Animal companions with an intelligence of 3 or higher can take all feats he is (physically) capable of performing. If that team work feat is overpowered in your game, consider it off limits. A team work feat requires communications ihmo and an animal companion can not communicate as good as humans can.

This blog post might be interesting.

Extraordinary abilities do not have a default action type (that I can find). Vital Strike specifically says you can make one such attack - Precise Strike makes no such stipulation.
