We have a PbP homebrew Pathfinder game we have been playing for a few months now - characters just got to level 2. We take turns DMing, roughly a month at a time. Unfortunately, due to school restarting, etc, we are losing 3 of our players this week and need to replace them.
Because we are collaboratively building the gameworld and rotating DM duties, DMing will be necessary for all at some point, but experience is not specifically necessary.

Will accept the first 3 to sign up for an extended PbP campaign.

Hi,
I would be happy to play and DM in that setting. I'm a quite new D20 player but long term gamer with DM experience in other systems. I am currently playing in two other PbP for more than 6 months and was considering DMing but this collective world building sounds even better to me. I've skimmed through the PbP and will read more later and I have two possible characters in mind. One would be a mounted gnome paladin but you still have one in Fubar. The other one would be a cold based Sorcerer (either silver dragon or one from the APG). I'll tell more once I'm at home with my books.

Sounds good! Welcome aboard! Note that we have decided to restrict material to Pathfinder OGC and APG (basically what you can get on the net for free). Also note the character trait options you can use (refer to original thread).
Any character you feel like playing (within these guidelines) is fine!

I've taken time to read through all the links provided, character creation guidelines and all the thread. I'll post a character tomorrow when I've got more time to do it and to think about the background. I'm going to go with a Boreal Sorceress as per the APG. she'll be local but living more out of town than in, wandering where she feels like.I've also logged on Obsidian Portal as Llaelian

And still 2 more
How much time do I have to prepare the character? I'm on a business trip right now, but I should return home tomorrow and be able to finish my character by the end of the week. Since your links seem to be dead, can you tell me is the game point buy and how many points? I'm thinking on Holly Warrior variant of Cleric, if it's allowed.

Hi Nightflier,
You can find the characters and character creation guidelines here. To summarize: PF Core + APG, 2 traits, 25 points buy and level 2 (1300 XP, fast xp chart)
Here are the links for the original recruitment thread and game thread .
As for the characters remaining, we have Caydee Brunland, an elven ranger, Fubar, a !/2 orc Paladin and Azhateran Slug, a human cleric.
I'm just joining the group with Vardara, a human Paladin/Boreal sorceress.

Okay, this sounds very interesting. I think that perhaps I would be stepping on to many toes if I decide to play Holy Warrior, so perhaps I should choose something else. Any suggestion from DM or other players.

Step all over toes, I say!
Really, play whatever sounds fun to you. I've been having fun developing this character, but if we end up healer or combat heavy, I can always switch classes too.
We are a bit light on roguery and int magic, and can always use a solid tank. Bards can help everyone. Whatever the helle you want to play, play it!
And yeah, you have time.
Llae, thanks for the post to bring him up to speed, I'll let you do this next time :).
We're rotating into Caydee's DM shift at the moment - Caydee doesn't have a lot of DM experience and we're moving some people in and out, so will be a bit getting things sorted out.
See you on the flip side!

I'm interested in joining. I haven't DM'd Pathfinder yet or a pbp for that matter, but am willing to give it a go. I'm not sure yet on a character concept. I'm at work, so don't really have time for a character concept this moment. If I think of something I will post again. I assume you've moved on to the APG for character creation. Let me know if there is still a space available.

I think I may go with a rogue or a ranger.

Looking good guys. Also go over and make an Obsidian Portal account if you haven't yet, and post your username for Obsidian Portal here, and Fubar will get you an invite to the campaign.
Llae's post above outlines and links the character creation process perfectly!
Also, go ahead and post an introductory post on the main thread when you have your character done and are ready to go.

My user name is aldo Shaundakul on Obsidian. For the introductory post, is that going to be us meeting up together, with the new party or something else. I think we should assume the three of us ventured out together. Any opinions?
That would make sense. as the other group has been chasing stolen artefacts, we could have been sent to catch them the next day. Vardara because she is a Paladin of Asterius and sent there by the head cleric of the town. And maybe Tarkum because of his knowledge on magic, engineering and that sort of things.

Fubar wrote:Sorry for disappearing. My internet connection went down. I'm back now. So, what should I do now? Introduce my character in the game thread? No reason to assume your PC was treasure deprived during level 1 into 2, your gear is fine.....
Next DM should be making up the difference....
Yes, go ahead, I've started things for our second group.

I'm also interested. I have a pretty super available posting schedule during the day and have plenty of experience both playing and DMing tabletop, but am just getting into PBP. I'd be willing to play whatever class role needs to be filled at the moment. If there's still room I can go ahead and put together a character.
| Hellefire |
At the moment we have a paladin, a paladin/sorceress, and ranger and a cleric. Interesting group :). But, we can survive - so make whatever you feel like playing!
Going in posting order, the current two free slots will go to Romuken and Randall793 - If you can get characters written up and post on the main thread to say hello in the next week or so.
Smashthedean, if one of them drops out or doesnt get back to us in the next couple weeks, you can have that spot (or if one of the regulars has to drop out).

Sounds good, I'll keep an eye on this thread. I was browsing your game thread some the other day and from your current makeup I figure you could use a Bard or a Rogue the most so I put together 2nd level characters for each of those in case spots open up. I'm leaning towards the Bard since #1 I've never actually played a Bard before and #2 his name is Hoppin' Robbo and he's a dancing Halfling who sounds like he'd be a lot of fun to play. If you end up getting some sort of Witch or Wizard or something I may end up going with the Rogue though as they're always fun times.

Romuken/Aleena -
A - yes, do any rebuild necessary to meet the game character creation standards please
B - Absolutely, though PbP goes a bit slower than other forms, I am going to start tying some character backgrounds into the storyline soon and that is extremely useful
C - I didn't see anything epcifically not compatible, though I saw a mention of armor but didnt see any, and I didn't recognize the familiar (though I don't have a copy of the APG and just use the OGC for its info) - I actually have to read mroe on how witches work. Anyway, as long as its made as per the rtules in the core rules and APG, then its fine.
Smashthedean - sounds good. And I appreciate people trying to logically fill out a group, but again we are set to survive, so really play anything that sound sfun to you!
| romuken |
A: okay, will do. In that case, the familiar will probably be a fox.
B: Alright. I'll add more to it then in my next post.
C: The familiar is like a spellbook, save it starts with all 0-lvl spells, and 3+ int mod in spells. At each new level, she can learn two more spells of any level (or levels) which she currently has. They can also learn from other witch familiars, or from a scroll the witch found.

I've decided to play as a true neutral human monk, if that's okay with you. I'll get a character up based on the guidelines here . Advance to level 2?
