...succubi.

Seriously, just how common are these things in Golarion? I think we've seen at least three so far mixed in with the loot between the same number of APs. Are they pretty much the porn of this world? Or was there just a huge production run for Calistrian bookends? What's society's view on them in general? What about good churches?

And why can't it ever be lillends? Or planetars? A trumpet archon is fine too. Would the churchs view them differently?

And please please please don't let it be entwined ghouls in Carrion Crown...

It's always succubi because they are lust incarnate. The Abyss in its ineffable and utterly insane wisdom saw fit to spawn creatures whose sole purpose is to seduce mortals. It's not just that they look unbelievably hot and desirable, they will do anything to and with you. Anything. That thing you wouldn't dare ask your spouse, love affair, or even prostitute? They'll suggest it, and have some ideas on how to make it even more fun.

Even thinking about them can make a paladin lose his powers, they can cause archangels to fall with enticements the archangels never knew they were susceptible about.

As for two female-looking creatures doing it - the effect of this on men is well-known

So that's why it's always succubi, never lillends, planetars, trumpet archons (no double entendres, please), and hardly ever even nymphs: It's not just about looks, but also about attitude.

Same reason you won't see wizards in a battle-rage, wielding two great-axes simultaneously, even if they have cast enlarge person and transformation - it just doesn't look right.

Society: Since there is no general society, there is no general view. In good and/or orderly societies, they will be seen as corruption, though some will have statues like this to be deliciously scandalous. The more chaotic and evil you become, the more you might see these, though still not displayed openly (unless you're in a temple-festhall of Calistria, but that's not exactly an "open area")

Those who are more open about sexuality (especially recreational), there might still be a split of opinions: Some will see them as symbols of unfettered passion, others of corruption of an otherwise good thing - giving it a bad name. So some will display them because they feel empowered by it, while others will not want them at all because they have a demonising effect and thus hurt their cause.

P.S. Now I want entwined ghouls!

Is it too late to put in a bid for two entwined incubi? ;)

HA! Was wondering when someone might notice these! There's a reason for them... one of many super hidden easter eggs. Now's not the time to reveal more yet though.

That should make some adventurers real uncomfortable. Do you offer discounts for bulk orders? :)

Now, *that* is what I call entwined! Six arms and a serpent's tail.

But I see your mariliths and rais you entwined shoggies!

My guess is that it's Golarion's version of a dogs-playing-poker painting; super kitsch art for the masses.

Okay, now I'm really curious. I thought it was just a running gag, but if there's something going on...

Spoiler:
IIRC, the same player's characters in two campaigns has kept the carvings in both the AP I'm running and the one I'm playing in. Wonder how this is going to bode for him...

Sounds awfully busy.

But seconded.

A marilith/lilend sculpture is fine too.

I was thinking there was maybe just a fashion for entwined lesbian statues then some enterprising prudes ran around bolting brass bat wings to them so they could be said to be succubi, because there would be no way that regular human women would do anything like that.

Kind of like the Victorians and their fig leaf fetish.

He'll go blind. And get lice in the hair on his palms. And bast will send assassins because his actions caused the death of so many kitties by God's hand!

Interesting insight - even if it ultimately proves to be incorrect.

I have a new mission: While I wait for my bulk shipment of entwined incubi to make a lot of guys squirm, I'll file the wings off succubi statues!

Death to prudes!

If I had to guess, I'd say the other would be AP #3 (since it had...

Spoiler:
drow, demons, and other chaotic evil nastiness)

Although... Gaedren Lamm's stash (that was CotCT AP#2)

And the "current" one in the Stag Lord's stash (which of course is AP#6) so maybe the third Easter Egg is in "Legacy of Fire" (AP#4).

Now, I'm curious too. :P

Oh, and I second the entwined incubi James. That would be fun to describe to my mostly male game group. :) (I expect lots of squirming from them, on mentioning that).

Here is a picture of the Stag Lord's buckle I made for our Kingmaker game.

I don't suppose anyone's found a picture of an actual sculpture of entwined succubi that could be used for player hand out?

I get the feeling you're misunderstanding that each of the Adventure Path books are numbered and are instead assuming I'm trying to number the Adventure Path. You know what they say about assuming.

I even googled "entwined" and "succubi" and got a few PBPs. It's how I got the CotCT one. Just trying to find the supposed third item.

Aw, come on. You need to do this a couple of times. I want to go

Mega Donkey
Ultra Donkey

Donkey Spree!
Donkeymating!
Donkeylike!

Ludicrous (that one's for myself, though)

Sorry about being kind of snarky. I apparently am very rude sometimes by accident. I don't even remember writing that post.

Seems you've got a bigger problem to worry about than unintentional rudeness then.

Ice Titan wrote:

Maybe you have multiple personalities. Do you often drink alchemical concoctions you brewed yourself?

Or find yourself on crime scenes of crimes you don't remember committing?

That happens to me a lot. Very disconcerting. Those crimes always look a lot of fun, so I feel I'm missing out!

I'm thinking that a succubus riding a fiendish donkey would make an absolutely great pub sign.

Well, he assumed that you were assuming - double donkey.

Now assume about him assuming you're assuming - mega donkey.

He'll have to assume about your assumptions about your assumptions about his assumptions about your assumptions - ultra donkey.

And then you can get momomomomomonster donkey key key by assuming something about - you get the point.

Huh.

Add this to the possible "weird recurring treasure stuff" list: nude elf females. I think I've found more than one in Kingmaker? Possibly practicing martial arts? I admit - they could be from a different adventures, I'm pretty sure I've run into more than one. Anyone else recall this?

Anyway, this now is cause to worry about my character who kept these things just because he thought it was a weird thing to have (I didn't know about the world wound being so close at the time and have forgotten about it sense learning it, but it's still technically there).
