i am going to be playing a goblin alchemist and was wandering if anyone had any advice to help me out with the build, i want to specialize with bombs and i will be 1st level.

i want to do this too. point blank shot, precise shot are good. wait and see what the APG has for alcheys?


Yeah, if you can put it off for a little while, the new official rules will be out pretty soon.

I made a kobold alchemist NPC recently. Point Blank Shot, and after getting the Fast Bombs discovery, Rapid Shot. Makes for some pretty scary shock and awe capability in a single round.
Combine it with Haste potions, etc.

A Handy Haversack will be a good idea for accessing your pre-made potions, of course.

As a bomber, you'll want to have good Dex and Int of course (for attack and damage respectively).

Some good utility discoveries are Smoke Bomb/Stink Bomb (fog cloud/stinking cloud). Since you can bomb by hitting an area instead of the target, you can still do damage even with miss chance.

In dire times, a +Dex mutagen (giving up -2 Wisdom) will help with hitting targets.. although touch AC usually isn't hard to make. Maybe for those Monk fights, heh.

If you are allowed to use traits, Accelerated Drinker stands out as a favorite, and there was an item back in 3.X, the potion belt, that held up to 6 vials (10 if you got the masterwork one, which was 60G) that you could access as a free action, but no more than once per round.

I love the Smoke Bomb/ Stink Bomb discoveries. Explosive bomb also works very well with those, if they can be combined. If you're looking to do damage with the bombs, pump your intelligence as much as possible, maybe even down a potion/extract of Fox's Cunning at the start of combat (with your Accelerated Drinking, so that you can toss a bomb that round as well!). If you can convince your DM to change Quick Draw to allow you to draw alchemical items, or perhaps have a bandoleer that allows you to hold so many flasks in it prepared to throw (thus allowing them for quick draw) then you might want to invest in Acid and Alchemist's Fire to save your bombs.
