My group and I are searching for some fairly specific miniatures in bulk, any help or ideas about what to look for, or even better where to buy them would be greatly appreciated.
We're looking for:
-Approx 20 Painted well-armed and armoured, mostly melee soldiers.
-Approx 20 Painted ruffian/mercanary types.
-Approx 20 Painted Humanoid demon types, horned, preferably unarmed and black.
Really specific I know!

My group is really lame but we use Heroscape miniatures. A buddy has a huge bin of them he got from his younger brother when he decided his xbox was cooler than table top games. We use the heck out of em :D
There are some decent lots up on ebay right now for assorted figures.

I'm personally a BIG big fan of wotc's D&D miniatures line, even after they canceled the skirmish game (*pout*).
Check out ddmdb.com and do a quick search for something common that will suit your needs. A lot of commons can go in bulk for pretty cheap on ebay or other sites that sell that sort of thing.
edit: http://ddmdb.com/miniatures/799 Good demon fig.
http://ddmdb.com/miniatures/516 good fighter fig.

As much as I love Paizo, and usually buy most RPG related items from them, I usually get my minis from Miniature Market.

For that many figs, I'd go on eBay; actually beyond generic searches (which I would still do; some people sell prepainted plastics in bulk, for example), I would look for painted Warhammer Fantasy armies, which you can often find for a great deal. Chaos Armies would be great for all three of your needs, and Bretonnians and Empire would be great for the warriors and mercenaries.
Or this (just 10 guys, not 20): http://cgi.ebay.com/Warhammer-Fantasy-Army-Warriors-Chaos-Painted-/11054822 5865?cmd=ViewItem&pt=UK_Toys_Wargames_RL&hash=item19bd300f49

What sort of demons are you after again?
If you're after the 'tiefling' type, then a box of Games Workshop Ungors can be a godsend. These aren't the full-on goat-headed beastmen, but the more human-like runts of the herd. One box gives you all the horns and hooves you'll need.
Mix it up with the parts from a box of Empire Militia (the ones that used to be 'Mordheim' warbands), and you have lots of 'ruffians', with most common weapon choices and equipment.
You have to assemble them yourself, but converting the GW hard plastic is a doddle. Alternatively, find assembled units on eBay.

Thank you for the suggestions guys.
The demons are to represent a race which my DM has created. Twisted, horned humanoids, who attack with claws and bites.

I've had good luck buying D&D miniatures singles from:
Trollandtoad.com
Coolstuffinc.com
frpgames.com
Troop units are usually commons; you can often get them for under $1.00 each.
Myself, I use Warhammer Bretonnian footmen and Imperial Militia (Snorter's suggestion is good) - but I did have to paint them myself.

Paizo still has a bunch of the prepainted plastic Confrontation minis on sale:

And here's a link to my blogpost about the sale, which includes some pictures of the ones I bought.

The quality is very nice and the price is excellent.

I really can't afford much so what I have done for my group was to print out minis on heavy paper and then stick in binder clips after taking off the metal bits. Works pretty good and I can get all my images from PDFs of all the Monster Manuals. It is an affordable way of doing as well as always having the minis you need.
