I've been thinking of running a campaign set in Golarion, with an exploration theme, where the characters will be part of the Pathfinder Society. With Master of the Fallen Fortress having just come out that gives me the perfect starting adventure to begin this campaign with. So I'm wondering if anybody is interested?
One thing to consider is that I'm thinking of having a somewhat more "old-school" campaign. So it'll be more difficult and clever play will be encouraged over force of arms. Killing monsters will garner much less experience then finding treasure and making discoveries. The hiring of NPC mercenaries and the like will be possible and encouraged.

How much familiarity would I need with the Pathfinder setting to play? I'm an old school player with a great deal more knowledge of the older settings. All I know of PFRPG are the rules.
Just a guess mind you, but with an exploration type game, it might be that much more fun the less you know about Golarion.

Yes I want you to roll ability scores, by the standard method. As for what's allowed, stuff from the Advanced Player's Guide Playtest is definitely, as for third-party material, ask me, and I'll either allow it or not on a case-by-case basis.
And yeah, no need to have any prior knowledge of Golarion to play in this campaign.

Working up character concept. Thinking of a dwarven rogue, treasure hunter/merchant type. May multi-class later with cleric(abadar).
1.4d6 ⇒ (2, 6, 6, 4) = 18 drop the 2 =(16)
2.4d6 ⇒ (4, 6, 1, 3) = 14 drop the 1 = (13)
3.4d6 ⇒ (3, 3, 4, 6) = 16 drop a 3 = (13)
4.4d6 ⇒ (3, 2, 5, 1) = 11 drop the 1 = (11)
5.4d6 ⇒ (4, 5, 5, 4) = 18 drop a 4 = (14)
6.4d6 ⇒ (4, 3, 2, 3) = 12 drop the 2 = (10)

Talomyr here, obviously I'll have to re-roll for his stats (he was built on a 20 pt build) and eliminate his second level, but I would like to submit Calathes for this game. As I'm sure you can tell from his current build, he is on track to become a Mystic Theurge. I can hold off on deciding the which class is first, depending on what the rest of the party would be, provided of course that I am picked to play.
I am certainly willing to rework the background (and study interests as needed to fit the game)
Stat Rolls:
4d6 ⇒ (6, 5, 6, 4) = 21drop 4 = 17
4d6 ⇒ (4, 2, 4, 4) = 14drop 2 = 12
4d6 ⇒ (1, 3, 4, 1) = 9drop 1 = 8, Add +2 for Race = 10
4d6 ⇒ (6, 4, 2, 1) = 13drop 1 = 12
4d6 ⇒ (6, 4, 4, 1) = 15drop 1 = 14
4d6 ⇒ (6, 2, 6, 4) = 18drop 2 = 16
STR: 10
DEX: 14
CON: 12
INT: 17
WIS: 16
CHA: 12
Turns out not to be all that different than the original stats.

Every exploration needs a cartographer...
4d6 ⇒ (4, 6, 6, 5) = 21 drop 4 = 17
4d6 ⇒ (2, 4, 2, 4) = 12 drop 2 = 10
4d6 ⇒ (2, 2, 6, 1) = 11 drop 1 = 10
4d6 ⇒ (1, 3, 6, 1) = 11 drop 1 = 10
How about Traits? Heirloom Weapon and Rich Parents work out nicely for Erian's background. Thanks!

If you're still accepting applications, an exiled human barbarian wandering the lands and exploring the world looking for redemption:
4d6 ⇒ (5, 2, 5, 2) = 14drop 2=12
4d6 ⇒ (2, 1, 4, 4) = 11drop 1=10
4d6 ⇒ (5, 2, 5, 2) = 14drop 2=12
4d6 ⇒ (6, 6, 6, 4) = 22drop 4=18
4d6 ⇒ (3, 1, 1, 4) = 9drop 1=08

Ability Scores:
4d6 ⇒ (4, 6, 3, 3) = 16
Drop Lowest = 13
4d6 ⇒ (6, 3, 3, 2) = 14
Drop Lowest = 12
4d6 ⇒ (3, 5, 5, 1) = 14
Drop Lowest = 13
4d6 ⇒ (1, 5, 4, 4) = 14
Drop Lowest = 13
4d6 ⇒ (1, 1, 4, 6) = 12
Drop Lowest = 11
4d6 ⇒ (1, 1, 5, 2) = 9
Drop Lowest = 8
Wow... That's poor.
I was thinking of an alchemist.
Hard to do other than being an elf, and then I'll just look like the iconic!

Wasn't going to ask on this one, but I didn't make it into another game, so any chance of another entry. Probably try a dwarven cleric as I like clerics and not played a dwarven one yet...Motivation he's been given the opportunity to take the word before him and convert any heathen natives to his religion...I think a Lawful Good cleric.
4d6 ⇒ (4, 3, 6, 4) = 17
4d6 ⇒ (2, 1, 6, 3) = 12

I'm thinking a halfling non-deified cleric, obsessed with the study of secrets and the unknown - domains of Knowledge and Madness, sort of a Lovecraftian seeker of unknowable secrets. Probably will seek to be a Loremaster later.
4d6 ⇒ (4, 1, 1, 1) = 7
4d6 ⇒ (4, 4, 5, 2) = 15
4d6 ⇒ (3, 2, 4, 5) = 14

Nah, screw it. I'll be a summoner!!!
Character upcoming.
P.S. I'm aware that I can only have either the eidolon or summon monster going at the one time. My character is going to be a mwangi expatriot, with a giant ape eidolon.

This Bor...Character for "Deepdweller". Dwarven, treasure hunter/ explorer type rogue...still working up the background details.

I am thinking Human Monk. here are my dice rolled. I will get a full charactersheet as soon as possible, but am at work today (12 hour shift) so it may take a bit.

(4,4,6,2) 14
(4,3,6,2) 13
(5,3,1,2) 10
(5,1,2,6) 13
EDIT: Just realized there is a roll function. Should I reroll?

Currently working on the Dwarven Cleric of Torag (artifice/protection).
He's a reluctant adventurer, but he received his instruction to leave the abbey from his bishop and from his dreams. He tried to stop the dreams, you just can't trust them, but his Bishop says that he should be honored that Torag picked him and inspired his dreams. He's still not sure, but if his Bishop says he must, then he must.
Other than that he has been blessed by Torag in the crafting of weapons and that is how he shows his devotion, working on the forges in the abbey.

I have never played Pathfinder before and am entirely unfamiliar with the Golarion setting, but I am interested in PBP and I do have the PFRPG. If it's agreeable, I have an elven wizard in mind, a sort of dynamic academic with a strong interest in aberrations and alien/extraplanar intelligences. Haven't statted him yet; I shall continue to check this thread to find out if I should go with him or a different character type.
That's assuming there's still room, I know I'm a little late.

Well I don't know whether or not you're "accepted" until you post here using you're character. Somebody who has actually created a character gets precedence over someone that hasn't.
Calathes Neverion
Bor
Bwana Unjunti
Kagan Wolf-skull
Rauno
That's who we've got thus far. I can take up to eight at the most.

I'm open to a cultural-specific name, but I'm considering naming him Quarrion. (I played a char of that name in a different campaign, so it has some sentimental value to me. He also was a wand-wielding wizard.)
| Justiciar Te |
Heh, we'll be twinnies with our wand-wielding elves (Rauno's arcane bond is to a wand).
And I must have had the bad mojo when I rolled--everyone else (excepting vagrant-poet) looks to be getting 25-40 point buy characters! Of course, I don't really need much beyond that 19 Int anyway...
Hm. Want me to switch to a different bond? A party theme might be interesting, but there is something to be said for diversity.
Also, Lordzack - just to be clear, we're starting at lvl 1?

No switch necessary, as far as I'm concerned. Wands are a pretty archetypal "wizard" device, so it seems fine to me. Rauno's wand is all crystal and wire, to honor his favored deity and tie into the "crystal ball" theme of divination.

Yeah, I'm a bit underwhelming! So I said! boom, summoner!
I'm the worst stat roller ever anyway. This is good for me!

Ok, I was just looking over the name changes on this thread, and I'm starting to realize just how little I know of how to do this. What is the custom? Do I build another account on Paizo for my character? How much info should I make available to everyone but the GM, and where do I look for resources on things like 'where I come from'?
As of this post, I'm going to have to log off soon; is someone will please clue me in I'll make necessary arrangements a few hours up the road. If all this is explained elsewhere, just shoot me a link. I should have a playable character/account within 12 hours.
On a simpler level, we seem to have quite a few spellcasters here. Does anyone have any preferences regarding Arcane School or skills? I can imagine Quarrion being reasonably friendly with Jelloarm's halfling alienist; complimentary skill sets might be a good idea.
