Can you do this as a Summoner?

By RAW, no. The DMs I know I'm pretty sure would allow it however. There's not that much difference between animal companions and eidolons.

I'm pretty sure Boon Companion will make it into the Advanced Players Guide and if it does it's bound to be compatible with Eidolons.

Until then, I'd allow it.

I'd be careful with this. From what I hear, much more of the summoner's power is wrapped up in his eidolon than in other classes. Giving full eidolon progression while multiclassing might be unbalancing.

I agree, but since Boon Companion only gives you +3 caster level not over your HD to your pet class, if you go too far out of whack, it's not going to do you much good. Summoner 1/Monk 16 will not be over optimized :)

**Casts Resurrect Dead Thread**
I have searched, but not located, any posts, post-release of the APG that cover this. Does Boon Companion work with eidolons or not. The former head of PFS (Josh Frost), said no, but the author of the feat (Russ Taylor) said yes. I don't see anything from JJ, JB, etc on this subject.

I would say if you are playing PFS it doesn't but if you play any other Pathfinder it does, barring houserules to the contrary.

Neither is a familiar, but it works for them as well. The issue I have is that PFS leadership is not in the habit of over-ruling normal PF rules. Not to mention that all the posts are during the play-test period and could have changed by publication of the APG. Even more, the author says yes. Just seems like there is precedent to say yet, but that is not the same thing as an "official" yes.

TK - I agree with you 100%. Very well stated. I'm laughing because now I know why they call people like us "rules lawyers".
