shape of the leaves? (that would help alot)
I'd give it if I could. My memory of this photograph is really fuzzy. It may not have actually been leaves, depending on what this thing actually is. I remember the growths forming something like a pitcher pointing upwards. Those things all came together to form the "head" of the "mushroom" in its general shape.
Damn, this is really bugging me now!

Nope but it did lead me to this interesting list of trees: 10-most-magnificent-trees-in-the-world

Everything about that island is just breathtaking...I would love to visit there, but I doubt I will have the pleasure :(

You really don't want to go there anyway... too many immortal elves, Awakened fauna, deadly pirates, and at least one Great Dragon.

THAT'S IT!! Thanks man!
My brain did weird things with the memories of the photo, but this is exactly the one I was thinking of!
Thanks guys! All of those other trees are going to be plenty useful too! A lot of them fit the bill for the environment I'm trying to put together, especially the Adansonia Grandidieri Anothermage linked and the huge specimens in ArchLich's link.
Out of curiosity, why are you asking about this?
I've been putting together a homebrew area set in Golarion for my players while they take a break from Curse of the Crimson Throne (on account of a lot of people being unavailable at different times due to work and weddings). Basically the great desert valley with a verdant underground paradise just underneath the surface, which causes smaller oases to spring into being on the surface. The ecology of the underground caverns is both familiar and alien, with the surface oases seeming more familiar, less alien. I was looking for the perfect tree to serve as the "central nodes" for the surface oases, which spread the life giving magic of the underground oasis to the surface counterparts.
Basically I needed reference photos for myself and my players to get them all on the same page. To bring the setting further to life for them, y'know. :)
Seriously guys, thanks! These links are great!

The wonderful variety of life is just awesome. And I would also love to visit that island at some point.
