female Human Cleric/Starpact warlock hybrid

Not mixing them up, just can't count. OK, staying put and using the same power. Blast runs from F12-F16 and from F12-J12 taking in anything within the area. Aiming at the doggies and giving allies in blast (all of them) the temp hp or save.

Apologies. I'm not numerically ept at any time, but even less than usual after the last few days. Show week.


Tinker sounds like he's winding up and then, boom! But it doesn't bother the rat-like creature. Tinker missed (17 vs. Fort).

Phenia shouts out a battle hymn that weakens the two rat-dogs and boosts the rest of you. Phenia hit C1 and C2 and they each have -2 all defenses and are knocked prone on a hit from Phenia's allies. Tinker and Danea gain 4 temporary hit points.

C1 snaps at Danea. C1 bite vs. Izera's AC: 1d20 + 20 ⇒ (5) + 20 = 252d6 + 6 ⇒ (2, 6) + 6 = 14 necrotic damage.

C2 tries to pierce Tinker's metal thigh with it's jagged teeth. C2 bite vs. Tinker's AC: 1d20 + 20 ⇒ (15) + 20 = 352d6 + 6 ⇒ (4, 2) + 6 = 12 necrotic damage.

The zombie shambles forward and clumsily lunges at Danea. Z4 charge vs. Danea's AC: 1d20 + 17 ⇒ (16) + 17 = 33 7 damage and the target takes a -2 to all defenses until the end of it's next turn.


C2 hit Tinker (35 vs. AC) for 12 necrotic damage. Z4 hit Danea (33 vs. AC) for 7 damage and Danea has -2 to all defenses until the end of her next turn.

Ghetto: I can't remember, but if I lose my DC due to not engaging, do I have to wait till my next turn to be able to use it again?

I'm not sure what you mean. It's a minor action to challenge, so you have to do it on your turn, unless you have a power that challenges as an immediate action.

It was something in the DC description (don't have my books handy atm at work) but I thought it said that if you fail to maintain the challenge that you wouldn't be able to use it on the next round...although my memory on that is fuzzy. I just wanted to make sure I was doing it right before posting.

Danea continues to slash at the last of the zombies with her sunblade. As she does so, she shouts over to Izera, "Can you get to the Wight? Finish it off if you can!"

Izera: Once you finish off the zombie dog I mean.

Standard Action: Ardent Strike on Z-4, 1d20 + 15 ⇒ (18) + 15 = 33 vs AC; Damage: 1d8 + 7 ⇒ (4) + 7 = 11 Radiant damage and the target is under Divine Sanction till eomnt.

If the zombie goes down, I'll shift to F-12, if not I'll shift to F-14.

Izera's blade comes around at the dog once more.

If it hits: 1d12 + 14 ⇒ (10) + 14 = 24 and I shift to H12, sliding it into my former square. If I hit and drop it, I then move to H6 and make the wight my new Oath target. If I missed, or don't drop it, I don't move.

Unwilling to get back into melee just yet, Garret points his daggers and another mote of light falls to the ground behind the second dog...

The explosion of light doesn't phase the dog. Garret missed (20 vs. Reflex, includes penalty to defenses).

The gaunt creature launches black energy at Danea before interposing the overturned wagon between itself and you. Grave bolt vs. Danea's Reflex: 1d20 + 14 ⇒ (14) + 14 = 281d8 + 5 ⇒ (5) + 5 = 10 necrotic damage and the target is immobilized (save ends).

Phenia calls upon Sehanine's power and the rat-dog is nearly evaporated, but it still stands. Phenia hit C2 (24 vs. Reflex) for 24 radiant damage (C2 is vulnerable radiant), and Danea can make a saving throw or gain 10 temporary hit points. C2 is bloodied.

The corpse-like animals continue their assault. C1 bite vs. Danea's AC: 1d20 + 20 ⇒ (16) + 20 = 362d6 + 6 ⇒ (2, 5) + 6 = 13 necrotic damage.
C2 vs. Tinker's AC: 1d20 + 20 ⇒ (18) + 20 = 382d6 + 6 ⇒ (6, 3) + 6 = 15 necrotic damage.


I'm assuming Danea takes the temp hp, let me know if I'm wrong.

Bum. I even know that - it's a power my home clerics tend to have. I have salad for brains this week.


Danea assails the undead hound with her sunblade, showing no mercy to the abomination, although her will is not enough to break the invisible force that is locking her in place.

Ghetto: I'll actually go for the save this time.

Since you didn't take the THP's...
The rat-dog sinks it's jagged front teeth into Danea's hip. When C1 hit, it bloodied Danea.
It swings its head violently tearing at the wound. C1 bite vs. Danea's AC: 1d20 + 18 ⇒ (11) + 18 = 292d6 + 6 ⇒ (5, 2) + 6 = 13 damage.


While the creature thrashes violently, Danea is able to drive her sword clean through its back. It gives a shudder and promptly falls off of her. She turns and challenges the other creature in the name of Bahamut. The holy link sends motes of radiant energy, too much for the risen rat-dog to withstand. It falls in a smoldering pile. C1 missed. Danea crit and destroyed C1. Danea's challenge destroyed C2.

Make the Wight my oath target. Move to E7. Second wind, which also allows a 3 square shift, thanks to the githzerai racial Shifting Fortunes, and that shift brings me to E4.

Garret's blast of frost is deflected by the overturned cart. Garret missed (22 vs. Reflex including cover).

The wight slashes at Izera's face with a claw. Claw vs. Izera's AC: 1d20 + 17 ⇒ (11) + 17 = 281d8 + 2 ⇒ (1) + 2 = 3 damage and the target loses a healing surge.

Tinker's head swivels to regard Phenia. "I do not know. I will attempt to adjust." Suiting actions to words, Tinker moves forward while making small adjustments to his own mechanical workings.

As he passes Danea, the artificer reaches out one hand to her shoulder and seems to somehow inject her with something -- momentarily painful, but then restorative. He then calmly loads his crossbow and regards the wight, but does not fire.

Move: NE, E, E, E, E, E. Free: Curative Admixture on Danea, surge value + 8 (nobody spends a surge at this time). Minor: Swift Mender, Danea gets a save. Minor: Load crossbow.


Danea heals 30 and can roll a save.

Moving purposefully towards the wight, Phenia calls on the moon and stars to guide her attack. Sehanine may be listening.


Danea keeps her eyes locked on the wight as Tinker administers the injection, whincing only slightly at the brief pain of the needle.

Save vs Immobilization:1d20 ⇒ 16

With her renewed vigor, she quickly maneuvers into place and bellows "Burn abomination, burn!", which engulfs the wight in the radiant energies of Bahamut, before charging home as she attempts to deliver a paralyzing strike with her blade.

Move Action: Move to C-7
Minor Action: Divine Challenge on Wight, dealing 4 Radiant damage
Standard Action: Charge to E-5 using Hold Fast (can be used in place of basic melee attack), 1d20 + 16 ⇒ (12) + 16 = 28; Damage:1d8 + 7 ⇒ (7) + 7 = 14 Radiant damage, and target is immobilized till eomnt.


Phenia lobs a ball of green flame over the cart and into the wight's chest. Phenia hit D (25 vs. Reflex) for 26 damage.

Danea comes up and slices through the wight's chest. It's scream seems unaffected by the fog and echoes through the square. Danea hit and killed D.

Danea used a surge to gain temporary hit points before the start of the encounter. She isn't bloodied though, I just forgot to delete the word from my chart.

Phenia shakes herself slightly and looks around, still slightly distracted by the recent encounter.

Danea stops for a moment to kneel in prayer to Bahamut, petitioning him for his blessing and protection, before walking about the battlefield to examine the remains of the undead and consecrate the ground from their impurities...

"Bahamut, wash the filth of their presence from this place..." mutters Danea as she begins to burn the remains of the dead.

Tinker: Absolutely, use my surges :) Surges:11/15: going to rest, spend 1 surge to heal, and re-use Virtue to shield me again.

Ghetto: Can I do a post-battle examination to see if these undead were in anyway different? If so: Religion Check1d20 + 9 ⇒ (2) + 9 = 11 (if applicable)
