Best Summoner Feat(s)?

Just curious what everyone thought were the top 3 Summoner feats(of course I am excluding the obvious SF:Conjuration and Augment Summoning from this since everyones gonna post those first)

I sorta liked these:

1: Despana School(Weapon Style Feat from DotU) - Considered flanking when you and a summoned monster you created threaten the same target, and possibly add +2 attack and damage for the summon's attacks for a turn. <requires weapon focus with any basic mace and power attack so its more for melee oriented summoners>

2: Extend Spell - Buffs, duh?

3: Cloudy Conjuration

Depends upon how you are building them and what you have from which to choose.

I tend to think of summoners as making a good support class character, so I like a halfling summoner with skill focus: stealth and hellcat stealth, and then for outside of combat skill focus: diplomacy (with a trait that makes it a class skill +1trait bonus as well).

But anyway those would be 5/6 of the feats I would take by 11th level and only using PFS legal feats.

Extend spell, ovbious reason.
Improved initiative: You want to be first to boost you animal soon as possible.
Combat Casting: So you are always psossible to cast!

Its an opionion. I can imagine other builds.

Metamagic rods will work better for that given that the summoner uses the bard spell progression, higher level slots are more expensive for them while extend rods are fairly cheap.

Well i plan on getting my summoner into combat, so martial or exotic weapon profficiency, weapon focus and power attack are high on my list.


A great aspect of summoner is that it (currently) is so unsupported feat-wise. Sure, I hope for a bevvy of feats in the APG, a delicious assortment of Eidolon Mutation, Second Eidolon, Dual Eidolon, Sammich Makin' Eidolon, and such.

But for now, you aren't tied to any of that, and can explore pretty much any feat tree that could benefit a d8, light armor, average base attack character. Very few feat trees are exclusively denied (channeling, etc), leaving many interesting ideas. A ranged summoner, who uses his eidolon to grapple and pin down targets? A tactical summoner, with improved trip/disarm? A stealthy summoner, staying hidden while his summons do the work? All very possible and supportable with feats.

I might almost be sad when Summoner specific feats come out.

i just made a level 1 summoner with point blank shot and big game hunter on a dart throwing summoner with 16 str and dex im throwing darts and punching with my spiked guantlets with slam, improved damage slam, and racial perception along with power attack on the eidolon in the rise of the runelords and i pc the eidolon as another person with the same alignment whos just there every other day in game and i tear up lol but it depends on how you like your feats you could get deadly aim with thrown weapons
