Is VAnce crawling into the crawl space then?


Male Elf Wiz (Conjurer) 01

Origin GM, are there any exits or doors leading from this room other than the way we came in. I'm guessing not, but wanted to be sure.

Imrarel will move so as not to be between Vance and Kroesh and will watch the way they just came from. "I'll watch you back Kroesh."


Male Half-Elf Ranger 1

Vance pulls out his kukri, drapes his cloak around his arm, and begins to make his way down the narrow tunnel until he comes to the chest. When he gets to the chest he will attempt to drap the cloak with his arm to protect himself and reach around with the kukri to test the chest to see if it is unlocked.


Imrarel:
No there are no other exits in the room.

Vance:
As you open the chest there seems as if nothing wrong. Though you peer inside and you see some odd looking dolls that it looks like children used to play with.


Male Half-Elf Ranger 1

"Hey guys! It looks like a bunch of dolls!" Vance hollars back to the group watching.


Imrarel will think about how dolls might be associated with what's been happening around the town or with magic and/or spells in general. a la voodoo

"Dolls? Mayhaps they play with dolls. Thats strange!" Tao says thinking of another reason why they may have dolls.


Imrarel:
If you look at the dolls they look like normal toys.

Imrarel continues to watch the caves that the group had just come through, wondering what spells a doll may be used with as a focus or something else.


Male Half-Elf Ranger 1

"Did you want me to bring these back?" Vance hollers as he attempts to turn around and look back down the tunnel.


Male Tian Monk 1

"If we can identify that they aren't magical and evil yeah, maybe the children can play with them I'm sure they would love that!" Tao hollers back to Vance, then stands up. "Imrarel can you tell if these are magical?"


Male Human Cleric 2

I can't imagine someone making a magical doll. I say we leave them be until after we have cleared the evil from these caves.

I agree with Kroesh. Let's not drag something along with us until we know what it is or have a better idea what's going on here.

I kind of noticed that too Imrarel...

"Okay, I'll leave them here!" Vance says as he puts the dolls back and begins to make his way back out the small cavern.


There is only one way out of the room, the way you came.

"If there is nothing else here of note, we should head back to the previous cave." Vance says to the group.

how many exits are in the last cave we were in?


Two, besides the the entrance, one in the southern corner and the other is the hole.


Male Elf Wiz (Conjurer) 01

Lead the way Vance. I don't remember any other exits other than the room with the stirges.

Someone may want to ready a light. I'm only able to keep this one going for an hour.

Vance leads the way to the exit in the southern corner in the last room.


Male Half Orc Cleric 1

I have a lamp if needed. I can see well enough without one to light it when yours fails Imrarel.

I should still have my sunrod going and one more in my pack


As you start walking down further into the southern corner of the cave it breaks into a doorway. Down the doorway eventually leads to a natural hallway made by the cave rock.

Make Perception and Dexterity Checks.

Perception-1d20 + 8 ⇒ (19) + 8 = 27

OK, it's been awhile since I've had to make an ability check, but doesn't the ability modifier get applied to the check? If it does, my Dex check would be 18


It would have to be at or below your dexterity.


Male Half-Elf Ranger 1

Perception:1d20 + 7 ⇒ (3) + 7 = 10

Dex:1d20 ⇒ 18

It's so dark in here I'm tripping over my own feet.


Male Half Orc Cleric 1

Kroesh will stay at the back of the pack to keep an eye out for anything trying to sneak up on us.

Sorry Vance, you picked the wrong skill set to go with those rolls.

I would be 2nd or 3rd in line as I have the "light". I'd prefer 3rd, so Tao or the "Horse Mistress" could back up Vance... And stay between me and advancing bad guys.

Put the Horse Mistress between Imrarel and Kroesh. She likes to be able to use her protection ability and would she really want to argue with Kroesh and dark vision about being last in line.


As the group walked through the cave the light was not quite bright enough for Vance to realize there was an end to the walkway, falling down into the abyss. Luckily Tao was quick enough to stop the rest of the group from sharing the same fate.

Vance:
You seemed to have missed the monster. I think it is because it is really dark. You take 4 points of damage from the first creature and the other two are just crwiling up to you.

I cannot make out anything except Vance. Kroesh replies to Imrarel.

Give me your hand and I'll pull you out. he says while reaching down to Vance in the hole.

I guess I can go ahead and give you that one. In the end it only would have been a one to two foot verticle leap.

If you look around down is the only way to go. Unless you went down the other hole.
