Lord Robert:
You plunge the blade deep into the stomach of the beast and the sword begins to glow as you cleanly slice his belly clean open. Spilling any and all entrails onto the ground. William then looks at you, "My liege, I thought you were dead." He says as he puts his hand over his chest and begins to kneel. He continues to look at the weapon you are holding. "So it's true. You really are the champion. Then we must go and talk to Priest Ivar now." William proceeds to stand up. "Now, where is that good for nothing guard I brought with me..." *FACEPALM*
"It is so hard to find good help." Everyone is standing in a church that houses all beliefs of the good alignment. You see a man praying at an alter...
Lord Robert: As you fall you enter a dream state you see an older man standing in a temple. You hear a female voice. "My champion..." the voice is soothing. "Outside this town is a man who looks like this, you need to find him and help him with a task. He in turn will help you. Now rise my champion..."
As you stand back up you see William still fighting the monster and in your hand is an all black weapon. Upon inspection you realize that the pieces that you had were pieces to this blade, this is ANOROCH. You feel a large amount of peace holding this weapon. "This weapon must be used as a tool of good..." you hear the voice say yet again. This weapon for the moment acts as a +1 Longsword. You are now also fully healed and level 2
Lord Robert: You actually do manage to this creature as he reels in pain then brings his gnarly weapon down in your direction... TO HIT: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (10) + 7 = 172d8 + 7 ⇒ (2, 5) + 7 = 14
"MY LORD!!!" William screams as he pulls out his trusty longsword. TO HIT: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (17) + 9 = 261d8 + 3 ⇒ (3) + 3 = 6
William hits with his first attack then misses when he comes back around. The monster screams in agony! Then in a bloodthirsty roar looks directly at William.
Lord Robert: Monster: 1d20 - 1 ⇒ (15) - 1 = 14 William: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (12) + 4 = 16 William reacts by pulling out his Musket and shooting at the beast. "Come get me monster!" He yells letting lead fly out of the end of his musket.
Lord Robert:
Just as you start to walk toward the man, you start to hear loud thumping coming from outside. "I am sorry..." The man says as he lifts the dagger and plunges it straight into his heart. Suddenly everything is quiet then a large crash as the whole front of the house is ripped off by the large man from the carnival. Flailing around a massive log. Roll Initiative d'Artagnan: You can but it will take a while. Suddenly a massive crash fills the air. Loud screams penetrate your ear drums.
Lord Robert:
You see the knife lower from the lady's neck as he moves her to the side. "I am so sorry my lord," the man says as he moves his hood back revealing his face. It is a younger man, who radiates no evil and the older woman radiates no evil. "I was told it was for the greater good of this city. The man then falls to his knees. The woman runs out screaming. d'Artagnan: You know that you can run around the building in doing so it could cause you to lose the culprit. You hear a woman screaming from the other side of the fence.
Lord Robert: William gets down on one knee. Hey run here, as you run up to him he pushes you the rest of the way. Successfully aiding in your climb skill. I'm going to run to the back and see if I can stop him there. Yell if something goes wrong. You see the man in the second story hood pulled over his face. It doesn't strike you till a moment later that he is hold a woman hostage. An elderly lady has a knife to her throat. "I don't recommend you attack me. Call off your dog and let me go, or this will get a lot worse..."
The guards start forcing civilians inside. The streets start to become bearable yet again. The culprit is at a decent distance from you but you can still catch him you try hard enough. The first obstacle, Running through the streets you see the shooter run through an alley. At the end of the alley is a fence. Roll whatever you think will get you over the fence. You can try to go around it, but you risk losing the culprit DC 10
Lord Robert:
As you move in, arm holding her up. You soon realize that she isn't even holding herself up. As you open your eyes again you notice a single arrow sticking out of her back. Blood starts to fill your arms as you take her body to the ground. You then notice she isn't breathing as dread starts to fill your body.
HEAL CHECK 10
d'Artagnan: Just as you notice a head stick up an arrow is released as it tags the wife in her back. The wound from here appears fatal.
Eventually the church bells start to ring throughout the isles of the city as everyone starts to crowd up in the streets outside of the manor, where the ceremony will be held. The bride and groom meet outside on the balcony and it appears to be a classic wedding. The bride is beautiful and the groom ever so handsome. Some men are on the roof to watch over the crowds some men are even in the crowds themselves. d'Artagnan standing beside William who is quietly watching the ceremony from a distance everything is going perfectly. Finally the words are spoken, "You may kiss the bride!"
And you inspired everyone to get some much needed sleep. However the whole night is very uneventful. When the sun reaches its prime everyone is stirred by the smell of breakfast being cooked. Lady Terrowin comes down the stairs and starts to ask everyone to stay for a much deserved meal. After the meal has been eaten, it is time for everyone to get prepared for the wedding.
After gathering the whole party you soon mount up. Just before you leave you hear, "ALL OF THIS COULD NOT BE POSSIBLE IF NOT FOR YOUR NEW KING! GIVE IT UP FOR LORD ROBERT TERROWIN!" The ring-leader points in your direction. You haven't told anyone that King Terrowin is dead yet! Explosive applaud and then followed by the statement, "I HOPE YOU HAVE A WONDERFUL WEDDING MY LORD!" As the ring-leader bows then walks away from center stage.
Lord Robert: After several moments of study, you realize Matilda isn't what she seems. You recall reading about gorgous women who would terrorize men from the holy book. You have reason believe this could be a Succubus. If you make it obvious to everyone right now you will not have a chance of survival

EVERYONE MAKE 3 PERCEPTION CHECKS
Lord Robert:
"My son..." You father says holding back tears, staring out of his chamber window. "Why, did it have to be my son." He then looks back to you. "I don't think that William told you the whole story of what happened to your brother... His body was found with his troops. Most of the bodies mutilated the rest were beaten then left with their own wounds." your father continues on. "Your brother died a hero. Your brother had ordered his men make their last stand in the crevasse of hollow's keep. Where there he had slain enough to send the marauders reeling back. He had freed a large caravan of slaves and protected this city from being the next target of those fiends." your father then begins to weep. "His last will was that you get this. It seems to be part of Anoroch. There are also a couple of notes that were delivered to you. I have not ready them, I cannot read them. I fear to read them." As your father hands you these items he grabs your shoulders and looks you directly in your eyes. "My last son, promise my that you will lead this country into victory. And at all costs, protect the rest of the name Terrowin. I know that you are not full blood. But to me you have more than earned the name." He then pats you on the shoulder and begins to walk out. Marauder Note:
The rightful queen has placed this piece of the legendary item of Anoroch under my protection. It is said that who ever possesses these item will in turn become an unstoppable force. My goal is to get the rest of the pieces before that slimy witch. A man leads an army toward the black tower. I must not let him reach his destination. I must destroy him, I must become the king... King Terrowin: Today I had slain a powerful foe, but at what cost? Most of my men were wounded during the first assault and I managed to free the slaves. I had blocked the valley from being passed by placing my men between us and the black tower. Though I fear we will not make it through the night. Upon my death I leave the throne to my half brother, Lord Robert. May he guide us all into a brighter future. No one must ever know the real reason that we are... The note ends almost abruptly.
Everyone rides back to the manor for a quick dinner before the carnival starts. As his word, William stayed vigilant in the kitchen as the food was prepared. Night begins to fall as the musketeers watch over the manor. The Terrowin's enjoy a meal before finally leaving yet again for the carnival. Which happens to be set up more like a circus. After enjoying the quick meal, it appears that everyone is eager to set out again. Lord Robert:
Your father gets up and leaves the room. It seems odd to you that he would just get up and leave. Especially without excusing himself from the guests. Your mother seems to be acting very distant and your fiancé doesn't seem to notice you when you ate. Barely made eye contact. Her father seems less boisterous but still seems to be enjoying his meal. Clearly something is not right here. You believe that it could be that they had received the poor news about your half brother. d'Artagnan: It is very quiet. You cannot even hear idle chatter that you would expect from the Terrowin's considering their son is about to be wed. It is nearly pitch black outside, and the only light source that you can actively see from your position is the lamp that Davis is holding, the guard next to you. Make a perception 20
The party starts to heat up but neither one of you notice anything. I think even if someone were trying to assassinate you broad daylight you would still miss it. I am going to spare you misery and prevent you from having to look around. As the party starts to die off the captain of the guard pulls Lord Robert to the side.
just for you a little later After a short ride the Terrowins and almost the whole city guard show up to the center of town. A party is clearly being thrown. Street performers are entertaining the masses and the conversation between everyone is loud. As soon as the first Terrowin steps out of the carriage the civilians go crazy and start shouting good cheer. |
